1.1 Overview
A private network of PBXs is made up of a set of nodes connected by private links.
The network created in this way allows users to exchange voice and data within the private
network.
On private digital links, QSIG (signaling at point Q) and ABC-Fx (Alcatel Business
Communication Features) inter-node signaling exchange protocols offer network level services
usually available on the PBX in stand-alone mode.
1.1.1 Network Types
Several types of network can be used:
- Homogeneous ABC network. This type of network is exclusively made up of Alcatel-Lucent
OmniPCX Enterprise Communication Server and OmniPCX 4400 R4.2 PCXs and
integrates all ABC-F2 functions.
- Heterogeneous network:
Alcatel-Lucent heterogeneous network (referred to as "ABC network"), integrating
different types of Alcatel-Lucent PBXs.
QSIG GF heterogeneous network, integrating different types of Alcatel-Lucent PBXs
and non Alcatel-Lucent PBXs.
