WORKING HARD FOR HEADINGTON

AFTER four years battling for Headington on Oxford City Council, local Lib Dem Stephen Tall is asking residents to re-elect him in the city elections on 10th June. Weve achieved a lot for residents in the last four years, comments Cllr Tall. But I know theres a great deal still to be done. I hope the people of Headington will give me the opportunity on 10th June to continue our campaigning work.

Oxford city tax-payers are counting the cost of the Labour Councils extravagance 150,000 on the infamous Cornmarket Street benches. Only two months ago, Labour voted down a Lib Dem budget which would have introduced: FREE bus travel for all pensioners; NEW money to help the police target litter louts, vandals and hooligans; FREE swims for under-16s and pensioners. To have spent so much money on just eight benches when there are so many other needs is scandalous, comments Stephen Tall.

UPDATE
The new Residents Parking Zone for central Headington has now officially been approved by the County Council. The zone should be put in place in autumn this year. Following action from Cllrs Stephen Tall and David Rundle, the pot-holes in Woodlands Road have now been filled in. The next job will be to get the whole road resurfaced!
