IISER Thiruvanathapuram (IISER TVM) is one of the five IISERs set up by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India as national lead institutions for fostering excellence in the higher education and research in science. The institute conducts Integrated Dual-Degree (BS-MS) programme and PhD programme with frontier research thrusts in the contemporary scenario. The institute is currently operating from transit campus in the College of Engineering, Thiruvanathapuram (CET). A fully residential campus is coming up near Thiruvananthapuram with modern facilities to provide the best conducive setting for academic and research pursuits. 3. General Conditions &Instructions:

1) All the posts are as per the Central Government pay scales and carry allowances like Dearness Allowance, House Rent, and Transport allowance. Other benefits like Medical Reimbursement, LTC, etc. are as per the Central Government norms applicable to institute employees. The institute is to operate from a residential campus being developed at Vithura, Nedumangad Taluk, Thiruvananthapuram District and the institute employees will be eventually expected to reside in the campus when quarters are constructed and made available to them. These posts will be covered by the New Defined Contributory Pension Scheme as per the Govt. of India, Ministry of Finance Notification No.5/7/2003-ECB&PR dated 22nd December, 2003 (not applicable in case of deputation). In case of direct recruitment, the appointment will be initially on probation for prescribed period and will be confirmed based upon assessment as to successful completion of probation period failing which period of probation may be extended or the appointment may be terminated. In case of appointment on deputation, the initial tenure will be for 3 years which may be extended and other conditions will be regulated as per Central Government guidelines for deputations. The qualification prescribed should have been obtained from recognized universities/ institutions. Age limit and qualification will be reckoned as on the last date of receipt of application. Relaxation in age limits for SC / ST / OBC / Persons with Disability / Ex-Servicemen / other categories are applicable as per statutory provisions and guidelines of Govt of India on the subject. Candidates working in Government organizations in analogous/comparable positions or job functions of the advertised posts may be considered for pay protection etc. as per norms. The qualifications and experience prescribed are the minimum and mere possession of the same will not entitle the candidates to be shortlisted and qualifications and/or experience higher than the prescribed minimum ones may be considered for the short listing. The candidates should, therefore, furnish details of all qualifications and experience, with copies of certificates. The institute will decide the modalities for short listing and selection depending upon the number of applications received. If deemed necessary professional/ skill test(s) in addition to interview may also be conducted. The institute may relax one or all of the eligibility criteria viz. qualifications, age limit and experience in case of exceptionally deserving candidates and may also consider such suitable person(s) who may not have applied in response to this advertisement. Certificate in support of experience should be on the organizations letter head with date of issue, specific period of work, positions and scale of pay/remunerations and name, designation and signature of the issuing authority. SC/ST/OBC certificates should be obtained from the authority prescribed by Central Government and in the prescribed format for the purpose. Outstation candidates shortlisted and called for interview will be paid travel expenses limited to rail fare of Sleeper or IIIrd AC that will be specified in the call letter for journeys to and fro from the place of residence or from the actual place of commencement of the journey, whichever is nearer to the place of the interview. No interim enquiries / correspondence / communication of any sort will be entertained on the matter.
