Appendix B - Uninstalling Winisis CDS/ISIS for Windows may be easily uninstalled by deleting its own folder. Usually this folder is called WINISIS and resides on the primary hard disk C:. Use the File Manager (Win 3.1) or the Windows Explorer (Win 95 or later) to delete the whole directory. Please ensure that important data are NOT contained in the WINISIS folder before deleting it. Appendix C - Troubleshooting Missing DLLs Depending from your Windows installation and/or version, you may get an error message reporting the file CTL3D.DLL (or CTL3DV2.DLL) as missing or a message saying that a "device attached to the system is not working properly". In this case you do have use a DLL file located in \winisis\ctl3dv2 To make Winisis up and running you should copy CTL3D.DLL in the following directory: \windows\system Windows NT or 2000 users should copy that file in the corresponding system directory (C:\WINNT) Windows NT, Windows 2000, WinXP Users Please note that Winisis is a 16 bits application and for that reason a special property shall be set in this environment. Proceed as follows: Drag the Winisis icon onto the desktop to create a shortcut. Click the right mouse button on the desktop Winisis icon. Select the tab "Shortcut" and set "Run in separate memory space". It is the option under the "Target" box. Click ok and always use the shortcut for running Winisis. This will make Winisis stable under Windows NT and Windows 2000, WinXP. Winisis is blocked (hang up) In case Winisis has blocked, please call the TaskManager (using the CTRL-ALT-DEL keys combination) and then stop the process called NTVDM.EXE Then you may restart Winisis. DBN.PAR or DBN.EXP Files doesn't work Please note that depending from Windows Explorer (or File Manager) settings, you might not able to see files' extension. This may cause misunderstanding. For example, in Windows 95 or higher you may think to have a file called MYCDS.PAR but in reality you file's name is MYCDS.PAR.TXT Winisis will not be able to open that file. To avoid the above situation, please check file names with DOS or set the proper option in Windows Explorer (or File Manager).
