Nightmare Alternate Powers

[Dan Hemmens writes, ...I am not certain that Nightmare is terribly well thought through. It seems to have much the same problem as Obfuscate had in Masquerade its basically just increasingly powerful versions of the same effect (in this case, scaring people).]

Exile
The exact opposite of Summoning, this will make someone avoid a location or person at all costs. This power is great to get someone of ones territory or put someone out of town. Cost: 1 Willpower Dice Pool: Manipulation + Persuasion + Nightmare versus victims Composure + Blood Potency (the vampire must personally know the victim) Action: Contested (resistance is Reflexive) Success: The victim is compelled to avoid the person or place for a day or so per success. He uses any resources at his disposal to leave the location safely and punctually. He is aware whom he is avoiding, but does not necessarily know why.

Scatter
By shouting something at a group of people they will do what the vampire tells them to do. This will only work with simple commands like Move away and Let me through. This of course has to be something that repels. A favorite application for this is Dismissed! Cost: Dice Pool: Presence + Intimidation + Nightmare (to succeed, the number of successes must exceed the victims Composure; failing against one victim does not affect any others; the vampire is assumed to victimize all characters with whom he is interacting) Action: Instant Success: The victim leaves the vampires presence.

Tyranny
Similar to Sovereignty, but it will induce fear instead of love when looking at the person using it. But this is actually not repelling. The victims will do whatever the vampire wants, but in fear for whatever they think will happen. Cost: 1 Willpower per scene Dice Pool: Presence + Intimidation + Nightmare versus victims Composure + Blood Potency (each victim rolls separately) Action: Instant, Contested and Reflexive Success: The victims fall under the vampires sway for a scene, long enough to complete a single task or set of tasks. They are not able to attack or act against her. If the vampire attacks physically, the effect is broken. Otherwise, Tyranny remains active for the entire scene.

Hate
By talking to someone you can make him/her hate something or someone. Cost: 1 Vitae Dice Pool: Manipulation + Empathy + Nightmare versus victims Composure + Blood Potency Action: Contested (resistance is Reflexive) Success: The victim falls under the phobia for a night or so per success.
