Conclusions

(Thomas, 2011) 1. Price: This is what most people are going to look at first. The average person isnt going to need a super-fast internet connection and 500GB of usage. So for common plans, looking into charges, Bell wins easily, giving 6 months discount on monthly charges reducing rates to half. 2. Speed/Bandwidth: Taking a look at the least expensive option again youll see that Bell gives you download speeds of up to 6Mbps and upload speed of 1Mbps. But Rogers is just giving 3Mbps and 256kbps speed. 3. Installation Charge: Again Bell is saving customers money charging only $74 onetime payment but Rogers charges $199 for modem may be one-time or in instalments. 4. Bell is DSL which has a more or less constant speed, whereas Rogers is cable, which has higher peaks but will not maintain that speed at all times. Speeds would differ for different times of day, and different places for both, so it will depend on where you live. 5. Customer services of Bell and Rogers: Both have online registration facility so view bills, plan changing, and usage update. Both provide free online security system for

virus protection. Both companies advertise 24 hour customer service through email, phone or text. But Bell customer services have been known for poor customer service, a longstanding problem that shows no signs of improvement. Bell has 30 call centres across Canada, most operated by the company and some by outside suppliers John Jackson, a Bell customer for 35 years, decided to switch to Rogers after trying fruitlessly to put his computer on a separate line from his phone to cut background noise. "I've never done business with Rogers," he says, "but I think it would be almost impossible for them to supply service that is worse than Bell's." (Roseman, 2011) So Bell has to improve such problems to increase market else they may lose their valuable customers.

So overall we can conclude that Bell is providing cheaper and better Wi-Fi internet connection facility than Rogers. But now there are many other players like Wind, Teksavvy which are too giving their best services with cheaper rates and so competition is becoming harder more and more.
