Last week was National Science and Engineering week at Brampton Primary School where we looked at the world in motion. The children took part in lots of fun and exciting activities which used their Science and Design Technology skills. KS2 explored what happened to eggs when they were placed in different liquids with some remarkable results. KS1 were challenged to find out how many colours a sweet shell was made up of using filter paper, water and a sweet. They were amazed at how the water separated the colours across the paper. Reception and Year 1 even created some art work exploring felt tip pens in the same way! Each year group also designed and made models using scientific theory to make them move. Year 1 and Reception made super spinners based on helicopter design; Year 2 produced balloon powered racing cars; Year 3 made boats with sails; Year 4 explored the phases of the moon; Year 5 created toys with cams; Year 6 constructed hovercrafts with balloons and CDs. The week ended with a fabulous exhibition of what the children had got up to. Thank you to all the parents that showed their support during the afternoon and we are sure you were fascinated by what you saw! Many thanks to Miss Westbrook and Miss Bates
Brampton Primary is a restorative school where the initial response to conflict is to find a solution where things are put right, the victims needs are met whilst also meeting the needs of the wrong doer and meet all the schools responsibilities.

Breakfast Club is fun, theres lots of toys, my favourite is colouring. Sue is my favourite she plays with me. Olivia in RJ Gym Club was good. I went because I needed exercising. I did jumping and skipping. It was easy. She was nice and helped me. Chloe in RB In the After School Club I play football and art. I play football with Oliver in Year 2. The ladies are good because they give us sandwiches sometimes or sausage rolls. Jack in 1W I do some proper football. I have to do a match. I learnt to dribble and score. I play with Year 1 and older classes. Its with a coach from outside school. I like it because when Im older I want to play properly. Sam in 1B In ActiveAlli we used to get the toys out from Miss Bates bag. We used the hall wall bars, we played dodge ball, collection to get the cones. I went because it was fun and Miss Bates did good things with us. Lewis in 2PW In Recorders we do funny songs sometimes the holes go funny and we make funny sounds. Hot cross buns is my favourite song. Miss Bartlett is good at teaching the recorder. I do it with Year 1 and 2. Taylor in 2B In Science Club I learnt really good stuff and really enjoyed it. There were things I really wanted to know like your blood is blue and when it comes out and touches oxygen it turns red. Professor Wibblysocks told me that. Dylan in 3WH I liked Active Kids because you can do a lot, it teaches you games you havent leant before. You can get fit because people dont exercise at home. Dave was a good teacher and if you went wrong he didnt say anything. Prajval in 3W Comic club is fun, you make comics on the computer or you can write it down. Its for all the juniors with Miss Cross. For myself the best I made was my Alien comic on the computer. We print it out and give it to our parents. Id recommend it to everyone I know. William in 4C In choir you sing songs and go to concerts and gets lots of opportunities to do things. We go with Miss Hope, Mrs Perks and Year 4 to 6. I like the Christmas songs we sing, all year round we sing different songs and in the middle of the year we go to Fairfield Halls and its nice to do that. Megan and Leah in 4H In Maths club we learn loads of stuff. Mrs Ward makes it really fun to learn. We have done quite hard work on algebra but it seems easy now because Mrs Ward makes it fun to learn. It gives us a boost in class and if we dont get it in class she can go over it so we know it. Finlay in 5B In String Starz we play songs on the violin with Miss Hope. We learn how to use our fingers on the violin. My favourite song is Londons Burning. There are two from Year 6, 5 and 4. I enjoy it. Mollie in 5C Football is quite good because you can enjoy them and learn at the same time. I have been told by Mr Kempster that I have good potential on the left wing. I like school football club best because you get to play warm up games before the actual game of football. Daaniyal in 6S In Year 5 I did hockey and netball and in Year 6 Ive done cricket. I enjoy them because I keep moving around. I was Captain in one cricket game and we won. Sorrel in 6M FOB News Many thanks to FOB for their recent donation of books to our school library. Many of the books came from A New Chapter shop in the Broadway Shopping centre. Extra special thanks to Gemma Mentz from the shop and a parent who kindly donated a number of extra books free for the school. Miss Hope is currently awaiting the new furniture for the new library.
