Shared Folder: When importing farm data from an Enterprise client, a network folder that can be accessed by both the Enterprise Client and the Enterprise Server must be specified. Record that folder ' s path in the field provided. Idioma: Users can select the preferred language of the program. Users can also switch back and fourth between various languages at any time. Establishing Date Settings It is important to select date settings for each farm. By establishing date settings, the program will automatically create breeding groups and set default reporting dates. To establish date formats, follow the steps below: 1. Click on Farms in the menu bar 2. Select Date Settings. The date settings screen will appear 3. Select the calendar option to use on the farm. Refer to the Weeks in Year section to view the exact date in which the farm ' s first week of the year begins and the last week of the year ends. You may have to click on the triangle icon next to the Weeks in Year title to expand the section. c. 1000 Day Format : To use the farm ' s thousand-day calendar, select one of the following options by clicking in

the circle in front of the option, filling in the circle. i. Select Day Zero Date: Allows the user to define the first date of the farm or system calendar of the 1000-day numbering system. By default, September 27, 1971 is used. ii. Select Today ' s Day Number: Allows the user to associate a user defined 1000-day date. To merge items, follow the steps below: Select the item to be merged into another item in the tree view NOTE: Only items can be merged, not categories or sub-categories Click on the Merge Items tab in the details panel Click on the Replace With dropdown menu Select the item to merge with Click on Replace Click on Yes Click on OK This process cannot be reversed. Once the user confirms by clicking on YES" to Replace, the merge will happen. Lookup Item Management Categories: The Lookup Item Management is broken down into 10 main categories. Some of the main categories have subcategories associated with them. The categories, sub-categories, and a brief description of each are below. Genetics and Genetic Companies Category: The Genetics and Genetic Companies category contains the following subcategories: Genetic Companies: The items in this list refer to companies that supply genetics for the operation. Disposal & Treatment Conditions: The items in this list are used to record why a female, boar, or piglet was sold, died or

If a farm is selected on the left hand side of the screen, details for that farm will appear in the right hand side of the screen. The current herd size, date of earliest event, and date of latest event recorded on the farm will appear in the Details section. If a farm is selected in the upper left hand corner of the screen, details for that farm will appear in the upper right hand corner of the screen. The current herd size, date of the earliest event and date of the latest event recorded on the farm will appear in the Details section. The license information for the subscription will display in the bottom left corner of the screen. It will display how many sows the program is licensed for, the number of sows currently residing in the program, and the number of sow spaces still available. Disabling a Farm or Farm Group: A farm or farm group can be disabled at any time. Disabling a farm will not delete the farm from the database, but it will make it inactive and essentially invisible. A disabled farm will no longer appear in the registered farms dropdown list, but the females will still count towards the license information. To disable a farm, follow the steps below: 1. Deleting a farm from the program will remove it entirely. The user will not have future access to the database and the process CANNOT be reversed. To delete a farm from the program, follow the steps below: 1. Click on the Farms menu 2. Click on Manage Access to Farms and Farm Groups 3. Place a checkmark in the box in front of the farm to be deleted 4. Click on the farm name to highlight it 5. Click on the Delete icon on the right hand side of the screen 6. The Search for Pigs function allows a user to search the farm ' s database for identities that meet specific user defined criterios. The user can view or edit individual female or boar history and female lifetime performance. Search by Identity: There are several ways to search by an identity, including searching for identities related to gilts and sows, boars, semen batches or boar groups. Care 3000 has the ability to search by primary identity, transponder, or tattoo number. The license will be automatically imported. If the computer does not have internet access, go to the source with internet access and access the e-mail account initially used to send the registration file. Save the file attached to the email notification from PigCHAMP to an external storage device. Take the external storage device back to the computer with the PigCHAMP program and insert it into the computer. Click on the Import License button and navigate to the registration file received from PigCHAMP, and then click Open. The license file will be imported. If you faxed PigCHAMP your registration, you will receive your registration back via fax.
