1.2 Brief Introduction of Antivirus Function

Internet Connection Required before use (Refer to the manual for details) Backup users manual from USB drive for future use For using Heuristic option, refer to the detailed manual USB Drive Installation Guide enclosed with this manual is only for general USB Drive guide. Windows 98 Users can not use Vaccine Function stably. USB Vaccine function DO NOT work with Linux or Mac system.

[ Possible Pop Up Message ] If you see below message just after inputting your USB drive to your PC, it means that Your Internet Connection has certain problem

Please make sure to set up the Internet connection correctly before using the Antivirus Function of USB drive

2. Installation of Antivirus USB 2.1 Installation 1) Input USB drive into USB port of your PC 2) If this is first time to use Antivirus USB at your PC, above pop up message will be appeared at your PC screen. Click Yes to get certified to use Vaccine software.

4) After copying all the necessary files, latest virus update begins as below

This can takes few seconds depends on your system and network performance 2.2 Removal 1) You can use Windowss Control Panel to choose program and remove 2) Vaccine Program will be ended and removed automatically 3. Using Antivirus Function 3.1 User Interface You can double Click or Click Right button of Mouse once at the yellow shield icon to start scanning process. To start Scan function, choose Open nProtect Scanner USB 2008.

[To use in PC does not have Internet Connection Special Case]

Above Option can be used next time to be used in another PC that does not Have the Internet Connection by saving vaccine pattern in USB itself.

3.1 User Interface

Help Set up Scan Option Suspected file checked Back Up infected file at Quarantine first

Memory, Registry, Process will be scanned Full Scan of the selected disk Vaccine Latest Info [ Possible Pop Up Message ] You may can see below error message as you select Scan Selected without Selecting any disk drive.

If you just select Quick Scan the antivirus USB will scan the memory, registry, and processes by default even if you dont select any disk.

3.2 Viruses and Malware scan / Cure

[ Possible Pop Up Message ] During Scanning process, infected executive file can be detected and then shows Below dialogue box to give three options to cure the file

Immediately Close the Executive File and then Cure (If it is worm, It will be deleted. If it is infected file, It will be cured)

Repair the file After rebooting The system (This is recommended in case of the Windows system file infected)

Below message shows up as the executive file on going is cured successfully

[ Possible Pop Up Message ] When Heuristic file is detected by heuristic scanning option, below message is Appeared in the screen (Found the suspected file)

Report Suspected File

Get it into Quarantine (This is Recommended) Term: Heuristic scan detect any suspicious file which is unknown or not defined By virus tools before. Latest unknown worm or virus also can be cured.

3.3 Process Monitoring 1) LG Antivirus USB can lively detect Malware by secretly checking processes whether any malware is active or not, then shows below pop up message

2) You can easily cure malware by clicking Yes on the pop up box Shows Detected Malwares

3.4 Quarantine Function

If you need The file even If the file Is infected

Detected Malwares Can be removed or Revitalized

[ Possible Pop Up Message ] If you choose Restore of the detected file in Quarantine, it restore the file in the original Place and shows below pop up message (Sometimes this will be needed since certain File can not be opened after curing the virus)

4 Reminders for using normal USB storage function - Do not use the USB drive if wet with any liquids such as water or chemicals - Do not plug wet USB into your PC. If there is any smoke or strange smells or noise when using USB drive, be sure to turn off the PC immediately and disconnect power - Do not disconnect the USB drive from USB port while data transfer. If so, data corruption , system down or data loss can be occurred. The red status LED will flash during the recognition and installation. When USB drive is ready to use, the Red LED will turn off. Always use Safely Removal Procedure of Windows when disconnect USB drive. - Do not twist or bend the USB drive and do not place any heavy materials on USB drive - Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the product - Do not use USB drive in any place where excessive vibration or shock, wetness, moisture, and strong magnetic interference. - Be careful that any foreign material does not inserted into holes of USB port area - LG Electronics has no responsibilities for any corruption or loss of data stems from misuse of USB drive by user [Special Reminder]

Close vaccine program using Close button before disconnecting Vaccine Drive from your computer (It needs several seconds depending on your network environment.) You can open online manual choosing Help (H) from the menu Reminding Pop Up message will come out when only one month left before 2 years free vaccine usage
