The Blue Notes are headed up by Pete Mitchell; a Melbourne based saxophonist
(alto/baritone/tenor/soprano) who has been performing professionally with various
ensembles around town for the last 13 years.

Apart from performing his original material at Jazz Clubs such as Bennett's Lane and Dizzys
Jazz Bar, he plays a wide variety of jazz standards and popular music at many weddings,
corporate functions, tafe's / university's, clubs / pubs, shopping centers (roving acoustic) and
product launches etc. Styles range from modern jazz, funky acid jazz, swing, bossa nova,
Latin and ballads.

The Blue Notes work in Duo / Trio / Quartet / Quintet settings and can add vocals too if
required. Instrumentation can include saxophone, guitar, piano, double or electric bass,

Django Rhythm formed in 1991 out of common love for the music of Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grapelli and the Hot Club of France.

The music is often referred to as Gypsy jazz due to its blend of American and European jazz.

The band has been performing regularly as a trio comprising
of accordion, double bass and acoustic guitar but can
also extend or interchange with vocals, Saxophone and
Violin.

Django Rhythm can easily adapt to outdoor or indoor
performances, acoustic or amplified as well as roving.

The repertoire ranges from old jazz standards,
Django Reinhardt Songbook to French waltzes and Boleros.

Night & Day is a Melbourne based jazz trio featuring a delightful female
vocalist accompanied with Saxophone and Guitar.

They are perfect for setting the mood at any occasion whether that be a
wedding ceremony or reception, corporate function or playing by the
bar in a club. The groups repertoire features jazz standards from the 1920s
through to the 1960s including songs made famous by Ella Fitzgerald,
Peggy Lee, Billy Holiday and Ray Charles to name a few.

Night & Day perform in a variety of styles, from graceful ballads to up-
tempo fun swing tunes, sultry blues, latin and bossa nova.

For larger events appropriate for dancing it is highly recommended to
add a double bass player and drummer.
