MATLAMAT (GOALS) : To provide the knowledge and understanding in planning, design and operation of water resources projects with emphasis on hydrology, hydraulic structures, open channel and closed conduits.
SINOPSIS (SYNOPSIS) : Water resources engineering involved in analyzing and managing the quantity and quality of water in natural and developed systems. This course introduces students to establish the knowledge and understanding in planning, design and operation of water resources projects with emphasis on hydrology and hydraulic structures. Scope of study includes introduction to water resources engineering, stream flow estimation methods, stream flow estimation by using urban storm water management manual (MSMA), rainfall-runoff modelling, flood control and mitigation, dam and spillways, flood routings, statistic and probability in water resources management, agriculture and irrigation development.
HASIL PEMBELAJARAN (LEARNING OUTCOMES) : Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: 1. measure and explain water resources problems through sustainable approaches. 2. design hydrologic engineering and hydraulic systems to the solution of a variety of problems in water resources engineering. 3. demonstrate management skills in managing of water resources engineering.
