VARK Learning Styles Ali El Ahmar 1. What is you learning style?

After taking the VARK questionnaire I found out that I have a multimodal (RK) learning style. I received very equal scores for the reading/writing style as well as the kinesthetic style hence the RK multimodal learning style. This learning style allows me to use both reading/writing and kinesthetic equally in order to better learn. Having the ability to use two styles helps me adapt to situations better. However, being weak in other learning strategies is not so good. I must learn to adapt to the visual and aural styles as well. 2. What Study Strategies accompany that style? Since I have a multimodal (RK) learning style, there are two sets of strategies that I can utilize. First off, with the reading/writing learning style, the strategies consist of taking in the information in a form of a note, handout, list, book, or document which is called the input and then in return I convert all the resources at hand into something that I can easily learn from. I can arrange everything and organize so it flows all together and then I learn it through this learning style. Secondly, I have the kinesthetic learning style, which basically says that I must do something in order to learn it which holds true. In order to understand things I must do them, they will only be learnable to me if they seem real. The combination of both R/W and K gives me a powerful tool for learning. 3. What are the most important elements about the Input, SWOT, and Outputs for that (those) strategies?

The most important elements of the (RK) strategies are: Reading/Writing: The most important element here is to be able to intake the information through reading and writing lists or books and then turning that into a learning package in which you can obtain a solid output for. The emphasis is on the intake part because that is how you utilize reading and writing. Kinesthetic: The most important element here is to be able to do something in order to learn it. You must physically do something and learn from it. Using hands-on approaches and senses will help utilize the kinesthetic learning strategy. 4. Do these conclusions make sense for your study habits, and how will you implement what you have learned here? The VARK learning test was very accurate in my opinion and I totally agree with the scores that I was given. I tend to learn best when actually doing things hands on as well as

reading/writing manuals or documents. According to this test, I lack the visual learning style the most and I will attempt to better myself at learning through the visual style because it is very important to me especially in my career field of finance. In finance we do a lot of presentations and flow charts in order to figure out budgeting expenses and plan ahead. We visualize charts a lot and I must adapt to learn by visualizing the data provided. I do agree that this is my weakest point, and I always tend to take the visual stuff that I see and I put it on paper, so I end up going back to my reading/writing strategy.
