Preface
We know that practice make man perfect and training is first step for development. Either it be in a particular field on it may convene with the future practical study is more easy than the theoretical study and sometimes it may happen that theoretical study become more complicated than the practical hence, practice is more important for the students of B.B.A.

It is our great pleasure to present the project the real goal as aim of practical training is in each department is to absurd knowledge, about the technique and method on how they are working. As a student of F.Y.B.B.A. I have visited THE STANDARS AGRO ENGINEERS. at Aji Vasahat G.I.D.C. Rajkot for 10 days.

In this report I tried to cover all the information , which is required. I have also covered general information about the THE STANDARS AGRO ENGINEERS

History and Development


The company established and started manufacturing of diesel oil engine body ( crankcase) in early 1964 in Rajkot in a small rented room measuring 20 x 20 with initial capital of rs. 30,000/- and today it is spread in an area of 40,000 meters by hard work and painful efforts of Shri Govindbhai Patel, the partner of the company.

Today, the company has spread over an area of 25,000 square meters with a dedicate work force of 400 people and supporting over 800 ancillary units in Rajkot. From production of 50 engines per month in the initial stage, today we manufacture and export 60,000 engines annually. Their target is 1, 00,000 engines for export by year 2011.

The company is shared in to two departments i.e. one production department and another commercial department . In production division more than 6 cupola furnaces, workshop machineries, turning and grinding shop, testing shop, color shop, assembling shop,

Size and form of organization


Generally type of industry is classified according to its total capital investment and production process.

Various types of industries :

1.Small Scale Industries : As per the industrial policy statement , undertaking with a fixed capital investment of Rs.60 lacks to Rs.3 crores is known as small scale industry.

2.Medium Scale Industries : Undertaking with a fixed capital investment of Rs.3 crores to Rs.100 crores is known as medium scale industry.

3.Large Scale Industries : Undertaking with a fixed capital investment of more than Rs.100 crores is known as large scale industry.

As per the industrial statement the THE STANDARD AGRO ENGINEERS is small scale industry because its total capital investment is less than Rs.3 crores.

The Standard Agro Engineers company has adopted line and staff organization because to take advantage of both line organization and staff organization. The special aspect of this type of organizational structure is research and planning aspect of business problems.

This company adopt the line and staff organization, it acquire some benefits like that

Time Keeping System


It is a fact that profound significance mat, time waits for none. Man cant overtime hence time keeping system is very important in any unit.

In the Pollen Forge pvt.ltd. company time keeping officer maintain time for all the employees, here all the employees have to write their entry time as well in the office. There is a register in which they have to sign. Have to write the time & accordingly. The unit is maintained as well as time register.

There is recess for lunch during the duty time . If any employee goes outside of the premises he has to write the time in the care. Which saws the time he left and men he arrived at the work.

Time for production department and administrative department are as follows :

For office 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.(Recess) 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

For workers 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.(Recess) 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Contribution of unit to the industry


Contribution of unit to the industry means share of the firm in the total industrial production. The yearly turnover of The Standard Agro Engineers is 1800 metric tons. It contributes 1% towards the forging industry.

Following the line organization structure in the marketing department also there is one head at the top level that is the marketing. Manager having complete authority to stored with him followed by purchase and sales executives and dispatch officer. They are responsible to the marketing manager who is in term responsible and accountable to the managing director.

Promotion mix
Sales promotion is the process or an activity to increase the total sales of the firm. Standard agro uses sales promotion to a certain extent they have very little efforts or no efforts under sales promotion because as said before that standard agro has potential market and they supply that what they produce to the company that give the order. They do not need to promote their sales much they have sufficient demand for their products.

The firm does not adopt any kind of promoting their products. Their rate is very competitive in the market and its demand for their products is very high. Hence they do not feel the need of promotion. They believe in the personal selling on the buyers make direct contact to the firm.

Market Segmentation

In todays competitive business world, it is not possible to sell everything to everyone. There are different types of customers each, with different needs and wants, tests and preferences, different purchasing power and so on. Market segmentation refers to subdividing a larger market into smaller market.

Market segmentation is a process of identifying groups of buyer with desires of requirements. - Philip Kotler

The behavioral science has developed. Multi-national concept of buyer behavior is indicated that all buyers are different. Marketers recognize the important of heterogeneous demand hence they are keenly interested in sub dividing or segmenting the market that is each segment can be a group of people with similar or homogeneous demand of people with similar or homogeneous demand.

This division helps producer to concentrate on a definite group of buyers with a view to promoting sales of his products.

Pricing policy
Price is defined as the exchange of a product of service always expressed in monetary terms is the mechanism or device for translating into quantities terms the perceived value of the product to the customer at a point of time. Price is the only criteria for the consumer for comparing alternative items and making the final choice.

Price is an important element in the marketing mix arrival at the right selling. Price is essential in a sound marketing mix. Right price can be determined through pricing research and by adapting the test market techniques. A price is the standing answer of the firm to recurring problem of pricing.

Under pricing policy, THE STANDARD AGRO ENGINEERS sets its prices on the basis of the cost of production. Price on the basis of demand or on the basis of competition are not considered in THE STANDARD AGRO ENGINEERS but only the cost of production for price determination is considered.

Channel of Distribution
In the marketing channels of distribution indicates routs or pathways through which goods are services how or move from company to ultimate customers. Distribution system has two sub divisions. Channels of distribution is one and the other is physical distribution. One is merchant middle man who buys goods on their account and at their own risk. E.g. wholesaler and retailer.

Second is middleman who does not take ownership title to goods but activity negotiates the transfer of ownership from seller to buyer. E.g selling commission agent or broker. In The Standard Agro Engineers there is zero level distribution means they do not take help of any middleman. Here customers directly come to the company and meet the sales manager and during the meeting all the terms and conditions are shown. If everything is found satisfactory directly they supply goods to the customers. No doubt the company appoints salesman who visit the permanent customers, take the order and supplies the goods.

Sales promotion
Sales promotion includes that marketing activity that stimulates consumers purchasing dealer effectiveness such as display show and various known recurrent selling efforts not in ordinary routine.

Its includes activities like distribution of samples premium in sales participating in fairs and exhibitions increasing public relations etc.

The Standard Agro Engineers provides a few benefits to its consumers like providing one year guarantee on company products of the company. They sends a team of sales representatives personally towards the customers and introduce the product. This special team of sales representative introduces the product. This special team of sales representative interacts with the mechanics and other firms and makes them aware about the existence and usefulness of the product till they are persuaded to purchase the product. In The Standard Agro Engineers there is no salesman or dealers.

Advertising

Advertising is paid form of impersonal communication. It is a mean at mass communication. Advertising promotion of ideas goods and services by an identified sponsor. It can be used to build up a long term image for a product and trigger quick sense. Thus, advertising is an efficient way to reach numerous geographically dispersed buyers at a low cost.

In todays world advertising is most useful way of communication between the manufacturer and the consumers. Advertising usually provides information about the firm, its product quality, availability, etc.

There are many advertising media such as newspaper, radio, television, magazines, direct mail, postage, etc. A firm can use any of these above.

The Standard Agro Engineers is an ancillary unit. They produce diesel engines which are useful in other industries. As this company receive sufficient order so their sales are sufficient. Therefore, they dont take any step for sales promotion and advertising.

Organization Structure
In large scale organization there are separate personal department for the achievement of goals. Pollen forge has the following organizational structure for its personal department.

In this unit the personal manager is Mr. Akshay Vachhani who is fully responsible for the accomplishment of organization goal and has full right to get the work done by through staff member and other workers.

Recruitment, selection and Induction Procedure

Recruitment is process of searching efficient suitable and prospective employees for a job. Advertisement is published in local newspaper inviting applications to fill the various places.

Selection :

It refers to the searching of employees seating job and selection of the most efficient employees to fill up places.

Training And Development

Today training is absolutely necessary. The main objective of training is to increase productivity. When a worker gets training systematically, gets benefit of it. According to Edwin B. Flippo, training is the act of increasing the knowledge and skill of an employee for doing a particular job. In The Standard Agro Engineers workers are given the training under the supervision of companys trained and qualified staff.

If the candidate is fresh or not experienced then he has to be put down under the supervision to other person who has experience of mechanism and matters or machines also taught to employee. Effectiveness of training given to the personnel shall be evaluated. Records of qualification, Training and experience of key personnel are available with M.R. (management

The Standard Agro Engineers have separate department for training. They give training to new workers by senior workers. Senior workers teach them that how to do work most effectively.

Promotion and transfer policy


Promotion policy is to take merit in to consideration. Large of service education training courses completed previous work history and given weight age while declaring on promotion of person promotion are always based up on ability, hard worker, honesty, merit, co operation.

In The Standard Agro Engineers promotion is given according to merits on the best of efficiency of person. A mostly employee gets promotion from bottom level to middle level. In rare case there are promoted to executive lenel.

Every organization should maintain transfer policy should be known to each employee. A good transfer policy should charity and the condition under which this will be done.

In this company they do not transfer any person because company has no branch in other place so naturally there is no question of transfer.

Wages and Salary


The basic purpose of wages and salary is to establish and structure. The wages and salary administrator is concerned with the financial aspects, of need, motivation and research. It also refers to the establishment and implementation of sound policies and practices of employees compaction.

Wage is the remuneration paid, for the service of labors in production periodically to an employee or worker. Wages usually refers to the hourly rate paid to such groups as production and maintenance employees or blue color workers

In this organization 400 employees are working include unskilled and skilled as well as semiskilled. Wages and salary is decided by the body of the company and accordingly they determine their wages and salaries by their work.

In THE STANDARD AGRO ENGINEERS the wages is given to the employees one piece- rate basis. They are paid for one wheel Rs.20/- Salary normally refers to the weekly or monthly rates paid to clerical, administrative and professional employees or white collared workers

Here determined salary for office staff as per his work e.g. here the director gets Rs.25000 while accountant gets Rs.3000 while product in charge gets Rs.1000 at the same time quality controller gets Rs.1500 thus the salary is given according to their work.

Salaries are the remuneration for the quantum of services rendered by persons whos output is difficult to be measured such as remuneration paid to clerical or managerial or supervisory staff. It is paid on time basis, generally on monthly basis.

Employees Benefits & Service

1. Accident expenses Here in the organization if any employee gets injures during his duty time by accident and if he remains absent for 21 day due to his accident illness the company given full expense to the employees for the treatment. For the satisfaction of employees Mr. Hakabhai Patel ,the managing director of company takes personal interest and even creates warm relationships with employees.

2. Bonus Company is paying 20% bonus to each and every employees includes contract workers. Some other facilities given by company  Provident fund  Festival allowance  Uniform  Special Shoes

Grievance Handling system


The grievance is any dissatisfaction that adversely affect the origination relation and productivity when ever earn employees is dissatisfied by behavior of the management he submit his written application.

In The Standard Agro Engineers there is no dissatisfaction among employees and employer because company provides everything.

Conclusion
The company is found to be one of the leading industries producing diesel engines. Its products are well accepted in the domestic as well as in the international market.

In The Standard Agro Engineers Financial activities are going on and working smoothly.

Thus, this company has made great contribution to the state as well as the country by providing as much uses of diesel engines as possible with good quality a reasonable prize. Also the employees are satisfied with the company.
