D-Link AirPlus G DI-524UP Wireless Printer Setup in Windows 7 Pre-requisite Install the printer locally first (via USB cable) so that all its drivers are fully installed onto the computer system. For multi-function printers (with scanning/faxing functions), only the printer drivers need to be installed since the D-Link AirPlus G DI-524UP Wireless Router does not support wireless scanning/faxing After the wireless printer setup has been successfully completed, the locally installed printer (but not its drivers) may be removed if local printing is not required Step 1 Access the D-Link AirPlus G DI-524UP Wireless Router Web Administration Page. Select the Status tab and then the Printer Info button. Note down the Queue Name as displayed on the page. Logout from the Web Administration Page if further access is not required

D-Link AirPlus G DI-524UP Wireless Printer Setup in Windows 7 Step 2 Open the Devices and Printers page from the Windows Start menu or Control Panel. Rightclick on an empty area of the page and select Add a printer. Click Add a local printer

D-Link AirPlus G DI-524UP Wireless Printer Setup in Windows 7 Step 4 Type in 192.168.0.1 for the Hostname or IP address: field and the Queue Name as noted in Step 1 for the Port name: field. Select the Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use check box and click Next. Windows will automatically move to the next page when the detection is done

D-Link AirPlus G DI-524UP Wireless Printer Setup in Windows 7 Step 6 Again, type in the Queue Name for the Port Name: field and 192.168.0.1 for the Printer Name or IP Address: field. Select the LPR Protocol. In the LPR Settings, type in the Queue Name again and select the LPR Byte Counting Enabled check box. Click OK. Click Next on the previous page

D-Link AirPlus G DI-524UP Wireless Printer Setup in Windows 7 Step 12 Finally, select the Set as the default printer check box if this newly installed (wireless) printer is to be the default printer. Click Print a test page to confirm that this printer has been successfully installed and correctly setup. Click Finish and this printer will appear in the Devices and Printers page
