Narberth Civic Association November Board Meeting 2/08/12, 7:00 p.m.

Board members present: President Andy Haakenson, Vice President Deborah Lonsdorf, Treasurer Christine Jackson, Secretary Lisa Dribin, Jim Speer, Georgette Du Bois, Gigi TevlinMoffat, Liz Brown. NCA Call to Order Reports: Treasurers Report: Savings Account Balance, as of February 8, 2012: $1000.85 Checking Account Balance, as of February 8, 2012: $1,456.77 Income: Membership Dues $25.00 Expenses: Deborah Lonsdorf for Dickens Festival brochures: $26.50 The bank error from last month has been rectified. Treasurers Report approved. Minutes Approved from 1/11/12 Board Meeting. Presidents Report: Narberth Library event: Librewery on March 9, 2012. It would be beneficial to share this event with the NCA membership by email. Education Committee Report: Nothing to report. Bridge Committee Report: There will be a pedestrian bridge. It will be half way between the station and Narberth Avenue while the bridge is under construction. This will be a temporary bridge that will be purchased instead of rented with the hope that it will be refit to the Rockland Bridge in the future. Old Business: -Discussion of a potential NCA members get-together. Possible location is Narberth Caf but that is still in discussion, and having the event in the early fall was discussed. Lisa Dribin will join Deborah Lonsdorf on the Membership Committee. NarbEarth Day update: -JPM Catering is willing to pay 20% of proceeds from their participation in NarbEarth Day to the Civic Association -The same sound system person is able to work the event again. Establish Paypal Account New Business: -Promotion of the zoning meetings. Our zoning code is over 70 years old and in need of revision. -Jim Speer and Georgette Du Bois attended the meeting earlier this week. -The Civic will be informing our membership about upcoming meetings. -The Civic will add a monthly report on the Zoning Code process. -The next meeting is Monday 3/5/12 at 7:30pm. 1

-Pending minutes are easily printable for the Board. They are emailed as a Word document. -Ed Ridgeway, who works closely with the Narberth Business Association, joined the meeting to offer assistance regarding communication issues such as leafleting, NarbEarth Day information, press releases, helping the Civic connect with other organizations. Ed will make it to as many of the Civics meetings as possible. -The Civic discussed the possibility of sponsoring a t-ball team. It will cost the Civic $75. The Board agrees to do so. -Regarding the budget, the Civic should consider raising the dues. Discussion ensued regarding levels and costs of membership. More discussion is needed.
