Participation Distribution for DID Project Name: Hieu Ly Student Number: 209572546 [2 hours of obtaining video and preliminary

research] During the initial phases of the project, our group decided to designate roles and research topic. After the first group meeting in class, a Facebook group was created, in order for group members to contact each other. Before the first meeting at Scotts Library, I did some preliminary research on websites, such as: http://www.ementalhealth.ca/index.php?m=article&ID=8906 http://www.cmhagrb.on.ca/dnn/Publications/FactSheets/DisassociativeIdentityDisorder/t abid/162/Default.aspx http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dissociative_identity_disorder http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhM0xp5vXqY&feature=youtube_gdata_player (this was the video I found and was decided by the group as the best example for the Power Point) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWdpHBvtzPo&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQrNELa6P04&feature=related

[2 hours of finding articles] After the meeting at Scotts Library we decided to split the work up and I was designated the role of putting together a rough draft of the Power Point and brochure. The group also wanted everyone to find articles for the next meeting. These are the articles I found and emailed to my group. Akyuz et al. (1999). Frequency of dissociative identity disorder in the general population in Turkey. Comprehensive Psychiatry, 40(2), 151-159. Ann Thomas M.D. (2001). Factitious and Malingered Dissociative Identity Disorder. Journal of Trauma & Dissociation. 2(4), 59-77. Buchanan et al. (1994). Distinguishing between multiple personality personality disorder (dissociative identity disorder) and schizophrenia using the structured clinical interview for DSM-IV dissociative disorders. The Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease, 182(9), 495-502. Richard P. Kluft M.D. (2000). The Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy of Dissociative Identity Disorder in the Context of Trauma Therapy. Psychoanalytic Inquiry: A Topical Journal for Mental Health Professionals, 20:2, 259-286. Sar et al. (2006). Frontal and occipital perfusion changes in dissociative identity disorder. Psychiatry Research: Neuroimaging, 156, 217-223.

[2 hours of finding diagnostic tool and screening tool] After meeting up with the group and sharing information, I was assigned to find examples of a diagnostic tool and a screening tool to bring in for the presentation. I was able to obtain the full versions for the: Dissociative Disorders Interview Schedule (DDIS) Dissociative Experiences Scales (DES)

[8 hours of creating rough draft of Power Point] After receiving everyones summaries of information they have researched, I spent two weekends creating a rough draft version of the Power Point. During this time, I constantly updated my group via email and Facebook. I printed out the Power Point and brought it for the group to critique during our meeting. Some additional work I had to do for the Power Point was: Finding pictures Communicate with my group to ensure that information was valid Update and send copies of Power Point to the group

[2 hours of creating rough draft of brochure] After finishing the rough draft of the Power Point, I started to create the brochure. I had to make critical decisions on which information to include because there was limited space. During this process, I communicated and updated my group via email and Facebook. Some additional work I had to do for the brochure was: Finding and downloading a brochure outline for Microsoft Word Find pictures Update and send copies of brochure to the group

[3 hours of finding and creating slides for program/mental health services and prevalence/statistics] For the final Power Point, I was assigned the role of creating slides for program/mental health services and prevalence/statistics. Some of the information that I used to create these slides was: Brand et al. (2009). A naturalistic study of dissociative identity disorder and dissociative disorder not otherwise specified patients treated by community clinicians. Psychological Trauma: Theory, Research, Practice, and Policy, 1(2), 153-171. Ross, Colin. (1991). Epidemiology of multiple personality disorder and dissociation. Psychiatric Clinics of North America, 14(3), 503-517. http://marnietunay2.wordpress.com/2010/02/17/dissociative-identity-multiplepersonality-disorder-resources-in-eastern-ontario/

[2 hours of self-practice and additional research for final presentation] Once the final versions of the script, Power Point and brochure were created, I had to do some additional research for my role, as Doctor Hieu Ly. Due to time constraints, most of the research that I did was not presented. Some additional research I did was: Finding and creating examples of leading questions Finding information on drugs and pharmacology for DID Summarizing the process for EMDR Summarizing the process of Insecure Attachment
