Huawei ATS9900
IMS Advanced Telephony Server
Advanced Telephony Server (ATS9900) is a SIP AS that implements telecom services in IMS. It provides both basic voice services and supplementary services. In the IMS, ATS9900 provides functions of both PSTN/ ISDN Emulation Subsystem AS (PES AS) and PSTN/ISDN Simulation Subsystem AS (PSS AS).

Highlights
Extensive services and flexible configuration High availability Carrier-Grade reliability

The PES AS and the PSS AS are part of the service application layer of IMS. They provide services within the home network of subscribers. In addition to basic voice/video service, the ATS9900 fully supports supplementary services defined in TISPAN R1/R2, and provides service for a variety of access modes. The supplementary services provided by the ATS9900 cover all tranditional ISDN/PSTN services. ATS9900 provides numerous options relating to configuration for service management and control, which makes it easy to satisfy customers requirement and improve the customers service experience.

HSS
All user service data are stored in HSS as transparent data BOSS only needs to connect to 1 AS for user service profile data provisioning User service data is dynamically loaded to AS during registration through Shinterface

ATS9900 stores the subscribers profile in HSS using an XML format and this data can be shared with other AS. Reliability can be guaranteed by providing an AS Pool, which consists of a group of ATS9900 entities. Each ATS9900 can independently provide complete service for every subscriber.

Device data is stored in ATS9900, including device and office data

Advantages High availability

Features Service configuration

Benefits Enable carriers configure service parameters according to requirement, the parameters including: Service code Service call flow Service priority, etc. Enable carriers to prevent users from using illegal SIP messages. Discard SIP messages guards against certain DoS attacks. Filtering headers ensures network security. Helps carriers to quickly solve inter-working problems caused by understanding of protocols Enable different type SIP devices to access the IMS network and enable connection-oriented and reliable transmission between NEs Avoid extra-long-conversation-time bills in case of network abnormal, end session in time, improve subscriber satisfaction to avoid the loss of subscribers and release resource in time to reduce resource waste A group of ATS9900 work in load-sharing mode. The solution reduces CAPEX and improves reliablility of system In unexpected heavy traffic time or caused by unexpected attacks, prevents running out of the system resources, avoids impacting registered subscribers existing calls and new calls, ensuring system robustness
