Cutting Instructions 1.

Using the enclosed template for the bodice front, cut one from desired fat quarter and one from lining fabric. Be certain to line the template up along the fold. 2. Using the enclosed template for the bodice back, cut two pieces from the chosen bodice fabric and two pieces from lining fabric. 3. For the skirt, cut 12 vertical panels from four coordinating fat quarters measuring 6 x 18. Use the included size chart to adjust the length of the skirt, including 1 for seam allowance and hem. 4. For the bows, cut three pieces 5 x 3.5 using remnants from the fat quarters. 5. For the ribbon detailing, cut twelve 1x 18 strips (preferably from striped fabric) OR cut twelve 1x18 strips of grograin ribbon. Assembly Instructions for Bodice 1/2 seam allowance unless noted otherwise 1. With right sides together, sew the bodice front and bodice back pieces together along the top of the shoulders. Repeat with the lining pieces. Open and press the seams. (Step 1) 2. With right sides together, line up the main bodice piece with the bodice lining piece. Starting at the back, sew the bodice to the lining. Sew up the back seam, around the neckhole and down the other back seam. Clip around the neckline curve to ensure that the seam lays at (Step 2.) Turn right side out and press seams at. 3. To nish the armholes: Turn wrong side out so the right sides are together again. Align the armhole of the main bodice with the lining and stitch around the curve of the armhole. Clip the curve of the seam (Step 3). Pull the back of the bodice through the armhole and turn the bodice right side out. Repeat for the other armhole. 4. To nish the side seams: one at a time, match the right side of the bodice front with the right side of the bodice back, and the right side of the front lining to the right side of the back lining (Step 4). Ensure that shoulder seams align. Stitch along the edge and pivot needle at the seam. Repeat with other side. Turn right side out, press seams open.

Assembly Instructions for Skirt 1. Lay out the skirt panels side by side lengthwise to determine the order of the panels. With right sides together, and using a 1 seam, sew together the twelve panels of the skirt. Trim seams with pinking shears 1/4 from edge and press seams open. 2. To make fabric ribbon strips, fold long ends of each 1 x 18 strip under 1/4 and press. Repeat for the remaining 11 strips. Use wonder tape to secure the ribbon detailing over each seam in the skirt panel. Top stitch along the edges of the ribbon, securing the open panel seams underneath. 3. With right sides together, fold the panel in half and match the open edges together. Sew the last two panels together, creating a tube. 4. Secure ribbon detailing along this nal seam as in step 2. 5. Finish the hem of the skirt by turning up 1/4 and pressing along one end of the skirt tube. Turn up another 1/2 and press. Stitch to secure the hem. 6. Along the top of the skirt, run a gathering stitch 5/8 from edge. Gently gather the skirt along the thread to match the length of the bottom of the bodice. Secure the gather with pins and sew 1/2 from edge. Remove gather stitch. Finishing the Dress 1. With right sides together, matching the raw edge of the bodice to the raw edge of the skirt, sew the skirt to the bodice with 1/2 seam. Ensure that the back pieces of the bodice overlap by 1/2 - 3/4 to allow for buttons. Serge raw edge inside the dress, or use pinking shears along raw edge. Press seam toward bodice and topstitch the seam to the bodice. 2. Sew three buttonholes evenly spaced along the back of the bodice. Secure buttons to the opposite side of the back to coordinate with buttonholes. Adding Accent Bows 1. Fold bow piece in half, right sides together, to form 2.5 x 3.5 piece. Stitch around three open edges, leaving one edge open for turning. Clip corners and turn right side out. Press. 2. Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise. Pinching the fold, ip back the top and bottom to form a bow. Stitch the pinched layers of fabric together to secure. Repeat for the remaining two bows. 3. Hand stitch the three bows onto the front of the bodice forming a line down the center.
