Professional Experience
United Service Organizations Inc. (USO) 2008 to 2011 $235M non-profit organization providing services to members of the U.S. military. Vice President, Pacific Region Responsible for all operations across the Pacific Region (Japan, Korea, Hawaii, Guam, Okinawa) of the premier private, non-profit organization dedicated to lifting the morale of Americas troops and their families. Served as the senior executive for the region interfacing with top ranking civilian leaders in foreign countries (ambassadors, governors, presidents, and CEOs) as well as senior ranking U.S. military officers (generals, admirals, U.S. State department officials). Further responsible for the financial budgeting, P&L management, and execution of the USOs largest region. Worked to re-establish relationships with foreign sponsors and supporters for growing operations. $2.4M reduction of financial losses over threee years while successfully reducing non-profit bottom line results to below approved budgets for three consecutive years. $4.4M increase of sponsorship support over a three-year period for overseas foreign operations across the entire Pacific region.

Giant Eagle, Inc. 2001 to 2008 $9B privately held supermarket chain. Director, Retail Operations Full P&L responsibility for $6.5B of 160 corporate stores. Directed monthly financial performance team reviews for the Bakery and Prepared Foods departments. Developed and facilitated learning map training for all stores, maximizing employee knowledge of customer service operations and store financial performance. Led corporate Indirect Spend Cost Reduction Initiative through competitive e-sourcing and served as Director of first Central Buying Office for not-for-resale commodities. $10M reduced from the Bakery and Prepared Foods departments bottom line losses.

Responsible for effective facility maintenance for all operations across the region including renovations of existing stores and the construction of new ground up facilities. Turned region into the #1 profit generator (out of 136) across the entire Navy Exchange System worldwide. Increased total revenues by $65M (from $45M to $110M) between 1993 and 2001. General Manager Guam & Marianas Islands (1990 to 1993) Held operational leadership for all retail stores, service and concessionaire operations. Managed $85M P&L for all Navy Exchange business across the Guam/Marianas Islands. Led all facility maintenance, introduction of new product lines and businesses, and employee training and work performance standards. Provided significant support to all U.S. military forces during Desert Shield/Desert Storm, extensive emergency survival support island-wide during seven major typhoon disasters, and support for all U.S. military evacuees from the Philippines during Mt. Pinatubo volcanic eruption.
