Profile: Dr. Muneer Ahmed Khan(May 26, 1926 April 22, 1999) was born in Lahore. He received his double Bachelors in Physics and Mathematics from Government College, Lahore. Then, he did Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Punjab University and Masters in Nuclear Energy from North Carolina University, USA. After completing his Phd., he Joined the International Atomic Energy Agency as a senior Officer. In 1986, Dr. Khan was elected as the Chairman of IAEA board of Governors. Dr. Khan was the Main Driving Force in the Pakistani Scientific Community which spearheaded the Development of Pakistani Nuclear Energy Program. It will not be wrong to say that Without This Mans unfaltering Determination and Self-belief, Pakistan could not have achieved what it did. He is one of The Greatest Scientific Minds & Patriots this country has ever produced. Dr. Muneer Ahmed Khan is a true Hero of the Muslim Ummah for developing the Muslim Bomb.

Interesting Facts: Dr. Muneer Ahmed Khan and his life-long friend Nobel laureate Dr. Abdus Salam first met when they were Roommates in GCU, Lahore. He was a part of the First ever Nuclear Project, the American Nuclear Program (The Manhattan Project). He was the First South Asian who was appointed at a senior Position in IAEA. He was nicknamed in IAEA as The Reactor Khan due to his extensive expertise in Reactors. There was not one team for building the Nuclear Device but two, One team led by Dr. M.A.Khan favoured a plutonium fueled device and the other team led by Dr. A.Q.Khan wanted to build a uranium fueled Nuclear device. Dr. Khan once prevented a surprise Indian attack on Pakistani Nuclear facilities by conveying a message to the Indian P.M through his Indian counterpart, Dr. Raja Ramana Any
Indian attack on Pakistani nuclear facilities would trigger a possible Pakistan retaliatory strike on Indian nuclear facilities at Trombay, which will result in the release of radioactivity causing a major disaster

The Indian P.M Indira Gandhi, on receiving this message from Dr. Khan called off the attack soon after.
