QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Rebecca Rusch, Katie Holden and myself witnessed a group of ladies ride with major courage and perseverance. There are some gnarly bruises to prove what they overcame and accomplished.

LINDSEY VOREIS
ASHLAND, OR - With a goal of increasing female participation in the male dominated discipline of gravity events Rebecca Rusch hand selected 6 female media representatives of various riding ability to join her, Lindsey Vories and Katie Holden for a 5 day Media Camp in conjunction with the Ashland Super D. All of the media were strong riders, but none of them had ever taken part in a gravity oriented race. During the camp, the women pre-rode the course with the pros, discussed riding skills and technique, nutrition, race-day strategy and race etiquette.

The group spent time sessioning technical sections of the course until each participant felt confident in their riding ability. The progression of skill and confidence over three days was impressive.

SRAM Chainless Challenge All attendees were encouraged to participate in this fun event. A visit to the local thrift store for race dresses added color to the event. Adding some spice to the Chainless Challenge. Ashland Super D Race The Ashland Super D has quickly become one of the premier Super D races in the nation, drawing top riders and pros from all over the US. It features nearly 5,000 of descending and 800 of climbing in just over 12 miles of flowing single track and fire roads. All but one of the journalists raced and everyone was all smiles at the finish.
