Squadron of Merit Award

Members of the Machias Composite Squadron accept the Squadron of Merit Award. Congratulations to all members of the squadron for making the unit the award winner for exceptional cadet programs performance. Only one squadron is honored each year for this award.

Cadets Post the colors for the Machias Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner on April 1, 2011
Four Cadets and Four Senior Members attended the Machias Chamber Of Commerce Annual Dinner. The Cadets posted the colors and stuffed over 100 bags with information about CAP. This was a great opportunity to educate the business community about CAP.

Governor Paul R. Lepage, Governor of the state of Maine, hereby proclaim the week of April 24 through April 30, 2011as Civil Air Patrol Week throughout the state of Maine, and urge all citizens to recognize the contributions and sacrifices to the benefit of our Community, State and Nation performed by the volunteer members of the Civil Air Patrol.

Welcome to our visitors from the Portland Squadron, the Eatons.

Texting and Driving While 88 percent of drivers in a survey conducted by the Traffic Safety Study survey state they feel texting and driving is dangerous, 24 percent of them admit to doing it. Texting and driving is concerning to many. Remember safety first whenever you get behind the wheel. Distractions are a leading cause for accidents. Please stay safe and if you need to text, pull to the side of the road in a safe manner and text.

Physical activity is easy when you make it fun. Walk with friends. Finding change and buying a soda- 10 minutes Drinking a glass of water 1 minute Deliver your message in person. Change typing time into walking time. 10 minutes here10 minutes thereA few flights of stairs It all adds up! No special equipment needed Only a pair of shoes and 15 minutes. It doesnt take money to exercise. Just determination to go for a walk .
