MMS PROGRAMME (Second year Fourth Semester- Batch 201012) 1) Only 10 candidates are allowed to register under a project guide (internal guide). The list of project guide is displayed separately on the notice board. 2) As soon as the projects are ready for submission, candidates should obtain the signature of the guide in the prescribed form, which should be collected from the Institute. 3) Candidates will have to meet their Internal Guide Minimum 5 (Five) times for project guidance before submitting the project. They will have to obtain the signature of the guide in the Project Guide Certificate form. The form will be provided on 10-0112. 4) One Copy of the project in black bounded & One C.D form (Soft Copy) are to be submitted along with the project Guide Certificate to the Institute before the last date. 5) Candidates should not mention his / her name or Internal Guides name anywhere in the project except on the certificate form. 6) The project should be typed in double space in thesis size paper and bounded with thick black cover page with gold embossing. 7) While submitting the One Copy of the project in black bounded & One C.D, candidates have to bring their second year tuition fee challans.

8) The last date for submitting Project Registration Form along with approved synopsis after obtaining the Internal Guide signature is 28th January 2012. No forms will be accepted after this date. 9) The last date for submitting one copy of the Project & C.D. is 17h March 2012. Any candidate who fails to get the Internal Guides signature before the last date i.e. 28th January 2012, their projects will not be accepted by the Institute and no extension will be granted. 10) Viva Voce will be conducted in the on week commencing st 31 March 2012. 11) The draft of the project report is kept for ready reference in the Institutes Library

OBJECTIVEThe objectives of the project are to see that a student does research work in any Area of Management related to the field of specialization. Every project should include inter-alia the following: Objective/s and Scope of the Study Formulation of Hypothesis Research Methodology Library Research Data Collection / Sample size Drawing of inferences through statistical analysis. Data Collection / Sample Size Strength and limitations of the study Bibliography systematic and complex list of references

EXPECTED STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCES


(A) Project work with good understanding of existing literature, framing of methodology, data collection and analysis. (B) Project work with good understanding of existing literature, framing of hypothesis, data collection and drawing of inferences through statistical analysis. (C) Project work with good understanding of existing literature, framing of hypothesis, data collection and drawing of inferences through statistical analysis. Further, this research work should be wither of major extension or developments of new concepts bringing about further trends / acenaries. Good 50-60% Very Good 60-90% Excellent More than 70%

DURATION The project will be Second year Fourth Semester. The Project carries 100 marks (10 marks project guide and 90 Marks Viva-Voce)

GUIDELINES TO BE FOLLOWED BY STUDENTS WHILE PREPARING THE PROJECT REPORT 5

1. All the students are required to comply with the requirements as laid down regarding the submission of the Project Work. The projects are to be prepared by each individual. The projects prepared jointly will not be accepted 2. The project work is 100 Marks and forms part of the evaluation of the Second year Fourth semester. 3. The Cover Page of the report shall be as per the format given in Annexure I. 4. The acknowledgement page of the report should be brief. 5. There shall be a separate page for contents. 6. After the content page, there shall be a separate page list of Tables / Charts / Diagrams, if any. 7. After the content page, there will be synopsis of the project briefly written in two pages. 8. All chapters must be numbered. 9. Bibliographical references in the report, if required, shall appear at the end of the project report, as per the following format: Fredrick Neubaver and Normon Solomon A Managerial Approach to Environment Assessment. Long Range Planning Vol. 10, April 1977, pp. 15-20. W.F. Clueck Business Policy: Strategy Formulation and effective Action and ed. Mc Graw Hill, New York. The report must be typed in Quarter Size paper (8 * 11 ) Double spacing with 1/2 margin on the left size of the paper, one copy of the report & one CD shall be submitted.
