On Tuesday 21st February 2012, Year 3 visited the Natural History Museum in London. The purpose of the visit was to help them understand about weather and climate. They found out about the importance of the water cycle and why sunlight is so important to life on earth. Year 3 also found out about a range of wild weather and natural disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes and volcanoes. Finally, the children also found out about climates around the world and how the earths climate can change overtime. This trip linked together Year 3s past topic on Dinosaurs, the current topic of Wild Weather and the future topic of Rocks and Soils. The childrens behaviour on this trip was excellent, especially as the museum was very busy with lots of schools there at the same time.

I feel safe because I used to cry but now I dont because I used to be 3 but now Im 4. Teachers and Mrs Coombs look after you, they keep you safe. If someone is naughty they tell them off. Sam in RB I feel safe because I do drawing, I have to line up. I have to sit and be quiet because the teachers are talking and trying to tell me things. Brodie in RJ I feel safe because theres the teachers who look after you. They have to tell (the office) in case the children are not here, in case someone gets lost. If there are naughty children teachers tell them off. Chloe in 1B I feel safe because no people are going to be rude, nasty or someone will take me. Teachers are in the classroom every time we are in there. They never run away. Maya in 1W If there was a fire the alarm goes off and we would have to line up and go out on the field. We have to walk and not run in the corridors. Ami in 2PW I feel safe because Im in a building and its not scarey because Ive been here before. I know where everything is. Teachers and Teaching assistants look after you by making sure that no one is going into the building and that everyone is out if theres a fire. Zara in 2B I know there arent any bullies here and they will obviously get told off. I know there arent many dangerous things in the playground so I cant hurt myself. Ricky in 3WH I feel safe because I always walk or on my scooter. I listen and wait for my mum to cross the road at the pedestrian lights. Theres always teachers around. If I have a problem I can tell them. Ive sometimes do this and mostly its sorted. Curtis in 3W I feel safe because I have some people to walk to school with me and I can chat with them. Theres teachers and children around me. They tell us where to go or not to go like on the field. Onyeka in 4H. My friends are with me all the time. Im safe in lessons because my friends are in front and besides me. We have to walk down corridors. If Iyou didnt feel safe Id tell a teacher. Joshua in 4C Yes I feel safe because not many people are mean. Lots of friends are there to help me if I fall over. My friends are happy and we are not sad. Teachers are there to sort out situations, to protect us and help us in school and on trips.. Mostly if theres something wrong it gets sorted and we are all nice to each other. Alfie in 5B. I feel safe because no one bullies me and if someone is mean to me teachers can sort it out. Id tell the teachers and its been dealt with. If I saw a problem around the school Id tell Mr Kempster. Will in 5C I feel safe most of the timenow I feel safe because I can tell problems to the teachers and dinner ladies. I had a problem in Year 4 and 5 with someone saying unkind things but now thats been resolved. Survin in 6S I feel safe because theres always someone to talk to, like my teacher. They always sort out problems like if someone is in an argument. Mr Kempster makes sure everything is safe to use. Tallulah in 6M Payments to School Whilst you can continue to put payments in your childs book bag, there is also a new payment post box in the reception area. Please ensure all payments (including cheques) are placed in a sealed envelope and clearly labelled with: Your childs name Your childs class What the payment is for e.g. dinner money for w/c 27th February 2012 How much is enclosed

Thank you Before School We have noticed a growing number of older children coming into school just after 8.00am. School opens at 8.45 and as a matter of safeguarding it is important that parents do not leave their children unsupervised. Governor News - Finance and Personnel Committee. When they met recently they received a Finance report from the school bursarial services and began the budget preparation for 2012-2013. They also looked at the numbers of children on roll and the staff training plan, School Development plan along with an inventory and audit report. FOB News Dont forget the next FOB event is the Pamper evening on March 14th. All the stall spaces have been filled and there are one or two new things to try. Many thanks to Mrs Buckner and her colleagues for organising the event we hope you will all come and have a little pampering before Mothers Day!

BRAMPTON GOLD BOOK Striving to Reach the Best Every week we print the names of those children who have achieved in either their work, conduct or behaviour around school and have been entered in the Gold Book. They have been mentioned in Mondays celebratory assembly. After 3 mentions children receive a bronze certificate, 6 mentions for a silver, 9 mentions for a gold, 12 mentions for a Super Gold and 15 mentions for a Platinum certificate, 18 for Diamond, 21+ for a Head teachers Award and 24 for a Special Head teacher Award and Badge.
