Alumni Connections &Alumni-Mems Involvement

GOAL: Focus on activities that would create STRONG connections between mems and alumni AND between alumni and their co-alumni 1. Formation of an Alumni Association -long been suggested; exclusive membership to an all-alumni association that is still a helping body in the incumbent organization -Structure, Voting System, Meeting and Terms, and Functions -Basic Structure
AA Chairperson

-semi-formal party (like before) but with a theme/; ball-ish; almost the same party but with a TWIST - TO able to plan this event, help of the assistant heads as well as the alumni adhoc committee will be solicited -planning would be at the start of the first semester, and execution (logistics, food, and all) will be last week of June OR early july Alumni Dinner with highest alumni attendees was at the time of Kuya Elbert. -Batch representatives contest. (Rep who convinced the most number of people from HIS batch, wins!) cash/token/incentive batch performance 3. Alumni Involvement in Speech Cup 2012 -there can be a number of volunteer/assigned alumni that would be required to help out/attend the Speech Cup, or the whole proposed Alumni Association would help collectively Rekindling the Flame: SPECERS in touch --programs to rekindle. reawaken the heart that the alumni once gave to SPECA - Monthly updates and invitation in Major Events (Ansave, FRs, Speech Cup, Retorika, ACLE), Alumni Feature in Speakerboxx/ Tambayan Bulletin Board

-Voting System - The formation of the first AA Executive Committee would be by appointment, nomination and suggestion.However, a concrete voting system would be established in the meeting of the AA Executive Committee and the Incumbent SPECA Executive Committee. -Meeting and Terms - A term of one (1) academic year shall be applicable for the AA Chairperson and AA ViceChairpersons period in office. However, a member of the board of directors can retain his/her position for a maximum of 3 terms (Equiv. to 3 academic years) given that the member is consistent and reputable as their batch representative. - It is on the AAs own initiative on whether they should meet regularly as an association. At least one meeting (AA Exec and Incumbent exec) per semester would be held to develop and further establish Alumni-Member Connections .In this way, issues and concerns of the incumbent Executive Committee would be addressed to the Alumni. -Functions and Objectives a.) Alumni to co-alumni connection re-establishment b.)Members (re)connection with alumni c.)Enhanced alumni commitment d.)Easier formation of Alumni Adhoc Committees for Alumni-Related Events e.) SPECA is a socio-academic organization. -for a more dynamic role and utilization of the vice chair,VC could also Lead or co-head socio-civic activities -proposals from other orgs or Reach Out ;-suggestions/activities from the standing committees 1. Alumni-Mems Reach Out | Speech Promotion Program -socio-civic activity; primarily to promote Speech Communication as a course -INTERHIGHSCHOOL; CAN also BE IN PROMOTION FOR speech cup 2012-2013 -given the roster of successful alumni that we have, some of them may be willing to spend some time reaching out in a form of a talk/promotion of speech -Program Design - series of talks and activities from alumni as well as from the mems.
