Executive Summary

OPPORTUNITY

7AC Technologies, Inc. develops revolutionary Ultra Efficient Liquid Desiccant HVAC systems for Commercial and Industrial (C&I) buildings, delivering a 50%+ reduction in energy costs over conventional HVAC units. Harnessing waste heat sources an result in 75%+ savings. Close to half of US primary energy is used to heat and cool buildings or about $280B per year in energy costs. The market for all unitary HVAC equipment is $7.1B in the US and $28B globally. Our initial target is the $2.5B US heating and cooling C&I segment. Our technology can be used for both existing and new construction and requires no infrastructure modifications nor specialized installation skills. We deliver superior performance in ease- of-installation, reliability and cost while setting a new benchmark for energy efficiency.

STRATEGY

Sell membrane plates stacks to HVAC equipment manufacturers and international partners. Build channels through independent distributors that already supply components to HVAC companies Target partners to date include Emerson Swan (New England) and Point Verde (Latin America). Target key national direct accounts and LEED engineering companies. Manufacturing is largely outsourced except for final assembly and test.

TECHNOLOGY

7AC has exclusively licensed 7 patents from the Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory and has filed 16 applications independently. The 7AC technology consists of an all- plastic conditioner, responsible for treating the outside air, and a regenerator, for re-concentrating the desiccant. The liquid desiccant design allows for the utilization of waste heat sources, paving the way for true net-zero energy retrofits. Our proprietary membrane design guarantees zero salt carryover into the building air by confining the salt to the plate surface while allowing the free transfer of water vapor between the air. 7AC has already achieved 65% of the theoretical maximum performance of our prototype plate design with additional improvements underway. We have the ability to cool in summer and recover heat and moisture in winter, giving our system year round utilization with compelling payback terms. We save 50 to 75% in electrical energy compared to conventional HVAC equipment and have payback periods ranging from 4 to 12 months. Costs are similar to conventional HVAC systems.
