During our duty at the East Marikina dialysis center together with Ms. Maria Elena Gonzales and group 3B. We have experienced wonderful and fruitful things that encouraged us to socialize with others and to do our work well, We also encountered familiar faces during our shift. Our tasks were delegated by the assigned student head nurse, we had 2 patients per shift (am and pm), the first thing to do in every patient that you will handle is to greet and introduce yourself to establish trust and rapport. Being a head nurse is a hard task, you must be able to balance the needs of every people you will encounter. He/she must have the qualities or characteristics of being a head nurse like being responsible, a good listener, an advocate, etc. he/she must have the right knowledge, skills, and attitude. The tasks must be delegated to the right person with the capacity to do the certain task, RNs are accountable to the public for providing culturally competent, safe and effective nursing care for the patients In the variety of settings across the continuum of health care. We make sure that we know the name of our patient and his or her diagnosis, we took their vital signs and their recording on the machine for monitoring every 30 minutes and we also assess the patient for any complications during hemodialysis. We help in cleaning the machine, removing and changing the blood lines, cleaning some used equipments, making some cherries, and preparing the equipments to be used in insertion and removal of the different access like arterioventricular fistula, catheter, and graft. We were taught important things about dialysis, it is important for the patients with problem in kidneys to remove waste and excess water from the blood, it is also used to provide an artificial replacement for lost kidney function in people with renal failure. Also the different principles of hemodialysis the osmosis, diffusion and ultrafiltrarion and

how the solutes travel from the machine through the tubing to the patient. They discussed to us the different parts of the dialyzer like the plastic body, semi permeable membrane, arterial and ventricular port (blood port), etc. The use of PNNS (for priming, removal of bubbles and to check if there are holes in tubing.) Also the use of sodium bicarbonate and acid (to maintain the blood pH and to provide electrolytes. During our duty at the east Marikina dialysis center, we had experienced the happiness, sadness, excitement, and the interesting views. We had a great time socializing with the people around us especially to our patients, weve learned so many things that will help us to find success or it is the stepping stone of our success. .
