Dear School Administrator, My name is Sara Youssef and I am striving to become a social studies secondary education teacher.

As you will see from my enclosed resume, I am working diligently through the education program at the University of Illinois in order to become the best teacher I can. I am doing so by participating in a variety of educational experiences, and as well as excelling in the classes needed to complete my degree. I am well qualified and would be an asset to your school because of the experience offered to me through the University of Illinois s education program and because of other additional experiences I have had in continuing to develop my teaching skills. My experience has led me to favor the grades sixth through twelfth. Those grades appeal to my teaching abilities because the students are very impressionable, interested in learning, open to new concepts, and close to the age of becoming full-fledged adult citizens. To be a part of molding and aiding students in transitioning into their adult life has great impact on my passion to teach. Also, coming from a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural home, I have gained perspectives outside of the average American home. I use my upbringing as a foundation to relate to multi-cultural students, and also to relate to students who may lack multi-cultural inclinations. I would like to teach north of Champaign particularly because of the diverse experience the suburbs of Chicago s schools can bring to my experience that I already have accrued. I have worked with students from different types of schools, from a rural area middle school to an alternative school. I feel in order to become a well-rounded teacher, exposure to different types of environments brings exposure to different types of students. I would like the opportunity not only to diversify my experience, but also challenge it. The more I can reform and perfect my teaching abilities allows me to become the best teacher I can be. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely,

Sara S. Youssef
