Welcome to Spanish 2!
In Spanish 2 it s our goal to continue to develop your language skills by reviewing past concepts and building on to those concepts to introduce more advanced spoken and written Spanish. It s also out goal to become more familiar with the Spanish speaking culture so that you can continue to express more idea in the Spanish language. The following outcomes will help reach our goal together.
Classroom Expectations
Be responsible for your actions Be in class and ready to learn Spanish when the bell rings RESPECT yourself, others, and all
Pen or Pencil 3-ring Binder with Dividers Agenda Dry Erase Marker (if you have one) Completed quality work
Grades:
Trimester Grades: A 60-25-25 grading system and will be used to calculate each TRIMESTER grade. Assessments Classwork Final Exam 60% 25% 15%
Absence Policy:
It is your responsibility to obtain all material discussed and presented in class at the time of your absence. This information can be obtained by referring to the Daily Work Log or a reliable classmate. It is our expectation for any missed assignment, quizzes, or tests, to be promptly completed upon your return. Failing to do so will negatively affect your success in class.
Before class begins, copy notes from the Daily Work Log and from a classmate. Obtain worksheets from the COPIAS EXTRA tray. Homework is due the day after you receive the assignment. If
homework is late, no credit will be given. If you miss a scheduled test day, plan to take the test upon your return. Remember that it is your responsibility to schedule a time with me to make it up. Missed tests that are not made up will become zeros.
Classwork:
When classwork is assigned, it is due the next day, unless otherwise specified. If you do not have your work ready to go over, you will receive a lunch detention. During that time, you will make up the assignment. If it is not turned in the next day, you will be referred to Mr. Rehkopf.
Classroom Discipline:
To every poor choice we make, there is a consequence. On this foundation is the classroom discipline based. If you have chosen to break a classroom rule (for most cases), you will receive an extra homework assignment called a Simple Request. This simple request must be copied in the student s handwriting 3 times and signed by the parent. This assignment is due the next class period or the amount of paragraphs doubles. First time: A verbal warning and your name will be written down. Second time: 3 simple requests (Due the next class period) Third time: 6 simple requests (Due the next class period) And do on. If the behavior warrants a total, which exceeds 6 simple requests in one givens day, a call home will be made and/or a referral will be written.i

3.) If a student refuses to write the Simple Requests, a referral will be issued automatically.
