MATHEMATICS FOR COMPUTER SCIENCE II [3, 2, 2]

Type of Course: P LEARNING OUTCOMES Upon completing this subject, the student should be able to: 1. Apply knowledge and fundamental concepts of Calculus and Numerical Analysis. 2. Solve problems particularly in computer science using software by refering to Calculus and Numerical Analysis theories. 3. Solve application problems by relevant information using suitable techniques. SYNOPSIS This course covers two disciplines of mathematics namely Calculus and Numerical Methods. Topics for Calculus include Functions, Techniques of Differentiation, Exponential and Natural Logarithm Functions and Its Applications, Techniques of Integration and Functions of Several Variables. Topics for Numerical Methods include Taylor Polynomials, Computer Representation of Numbers, Error, Interpolation, Numerical Integration and Differentiation and Numerical Solution of Differential Equations. PRE-REQUISITE None LAB AND PRACTICAL
