Praise and Prayer

Pray for Australia! OWeek
started this week, and classes start next week. Pray for 1st years to find Jesus and to get plugged in I met Todd one day at PSU with my friend Aaron while we were walking around campus sharing our faith. Todd is a grad student studying Russian and Music. It became clear very quickly that Todd likes to thoroughly think through things. We started asking his perspective on spiritual thingshis views on truth, God, and Jesus. He was very open and thorough in his answers sharing his journey from growing up agnostic to becoming atheist to being attracted to a cult and now being drawn to God. He told us how he feels God speaking to himthrough things like comforting him during times of stress and uncertainty. He doesnt hear an audible voice, just more of a presence. The next week I met with him again and was able to clearly share the Gospel. He wasnt ready to receive Jesus yet. There seems to be some disconnect between his belief in God and his need for a savior. Im hoping and praying Todd to connect those times that he believes God is speaking to him to how much he needs Jesus. Please pray with me for him and for more times to meet up. It has been difficult to regularly meet up with him because he has a busy schedule with school. My Schedule I figured Id give you an update as to what I actually do here in Portland. My intentions for moving here were to gain a better insight on what Cru Staff in the US looks like and see where God leads me. I am officially part time so I spend Monday mornings doing training/ development, Tuesdays doing operations for the team, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Portland State, and Friday mornings at our staff meeting. I have been slowly exploring other options and jobs in my spare time, but this has been very difficult because I have been once again having health problems this last month. I would appreciate your prayers for healing and direction for my future.

Pray for my transition

back to the US and for future direction as well as physical healing.

Pray for the city of Portland to be transformed by Jesus

Financial Update If you would like to continue partnering in ministry while I am in Portland, I would appreciate it! I do still need your prayers and financial support as I work here. Thank you so much!!

PORTLAND METRO CAMPUS UPDATE

Here is a snapshot of some of the campus we focus on here: Portland State: 30,000 students; We have about 15-20 involved in discipleship groups. Students ideas about spiritual things are very diverse and incredibly weird. U of Portland: 3,000 students; We partner with a student group called Fish (80 students) who in the past have been very inward focused, but this semester after 3 of the leaders attended Cru Conference, God is beginning to shape their focus to begin reaching their entire campus for Christ. Portland Community College(s): About 10 students are involved in Bible study. Community col-

leges are traditionally very hard to reach because of high turnover rate and non-traditional students. Washington State--Vancouver: 4,000 students and growing; 3 student prayer groups meet every week to pray for their campus and the student leadership is just beginning to focus on how they can effectively reach their campus for Christ
