his twelve disciples. He painted “The Last supper” on the back

wall of the dining hall at the Dominican convent of Sta Maria delle

Grazie in Italy. The reason the painting is put on the wall this way

it is that that Leonardo was trying to "extend the room", to make it

look like Jesus and his apostles were sitting and the end of the

dinning hall. Leonardo had it planned out in his head how he

would lay the painting so that it would look the way it does now.

Leonardo was also interested in anatomy or the study of the human

body. Leonardo said “to obtain a true and perfect knowledge [of

the vascular system]... I have dissected more than ten human

bodies” (Leonardo anatomy par6).Leonardo drew very detail

description of the human body. In 30 years Leonardo da Vinci had

dissected over 30 male and female corpses.he prepared to publish a

human body but also the function of its organs. He also studies the

anatomy of animals. He dissected cow’s chicken birds and frogs.

He had found that “in the composition of the human body as

compared with the bodies of animals, the organs of sense are duller

and coarser...” (Comparative anatomy par.11).Another subject he

studies was Botany which is the study of plants. Leonardo was
