ATHINAI TMA VFR ROUTES

1. General 1.1 Acft, including Helicopters, flying under VFR within Athinai TMA, should follow the VFR routes and altitudes as depicted in this chart unless VFR criteria require otherwise or a special permission is obtained from the appropriate ATS unit. 1.2 When necessary to deviate from the specified routes or altitudes a clearance .should be obtained from the Athinai Approach (Freq . 118.l MHZ) before entering Athinai TMA or immediately after departure. 1.3 To meet special traffic requirements the appropriate ATS unit may assign different VFR routes. 1.4 All aircraft entering Athinai TN'A should establish contact with Athinai Tower and report over all compulsory reporting points. 1.5 Cancellation of IFR flight plan within Athinai TMA is subject to ATC approval and after such a cancellation the VFR routes should also be followed. 1.6 It is reminded that on VFR routes the responsibility to avoid collision with other acft. provide terrain clearance and avoid restricted airspace rests, with the pilot.

2. ATHINAI Airport 2.1 Athinai airport is restricted to acft capable of maintaining two-way radio communication with Athinai Tower, unless prior permission has been obtained from Athinai Aerodrome Control Tower (Tel. 9694606 or 9972606 or 9810432). 2.2 All acft departing Alhinai Airport should remain in contact with Athinai Tower until passing KALIVIA, HOLARGOS, or AIYINA reporting points then contact Athinai Information (Freq. . 130.925MHZ or 119.75HKZ or MIL 285.0MHZ). 2.3 Departing acft should, after take off and depending on their destination, proceed either to AIYINA point direct or after reaching 2000 feet, climbing over the sea, proceed lo Alhinai airport and then to KALIVIA or HOLARGOS points unless otherwise instructed by Athinai Tower. 2.4 To assist Athinai Tower to arrange landing sequence of VFR or IFR arriving acft and facilitate the aerodrome traffic, a visual holding pattern is established west of Athinai Airport.

2.5 Holding on the above pattern should be carried out 2NM west of RWY 15/33L-R, not exceeding the longitudinal limits of the said RWY and at an altitude of 1000 feet (or 500 feet for Helicopters) or as otherwise instructed by Athinai Tower.2.<i Acft destined to Athinai Airport should hold over KALIV1A,ILIOiJ.AIVINA points or ELEFSIS aerodrome and should notproceed to the airport or to the visual holding pattern, of the above para. via tin.' routes shown -in broken lines until establishing contact with Alhinai lower !o receive clearance.

3. ELEFSIS Aerodrome 3.1 Acft departing Elefsis aerodrome after 'take off should contact Athinai Tower and remain in contact until passing DAPORI or PARNIS points then contact Athinai Information (Freq . 130.925MHZ or 119.75HFZ or MIL 285.0MHZ). 3.2 Acft departing Elefsis aerodrome and following the VFR route to ALKION point should contact Athinai Information after leaving the Elefsis ATZ. 3.3 VFR routes of Elefsis aerodrome and those, which can be used by Military acft, are shown by dotted lines. 3.4 Military acft departing Elefsis aerodrome and intending to cross Dekelia (Tatoi) ATZ or LGR 43, LGR 44 areas "A" and "B" LGR 45 should proceed to point ZOFRI and contact Tatoi Tower for clearance. 3.5 A clearance should also be obtained from Tatoi Tower by Military act intending to cross the restricted areas mentioned in the above para or Dekelia (Tatoi) ATZ from points ELAFI or KILO.

4. MARATHON KOTRONI/Aerodrome Heliport 4.1 Acft departing Marathon /LGMR aerodrome and following the VFR routes after leaving Marathon ATZ should contact Kotroni Tower freq . 120.90 MHZ. .4.2 All Acft or Hel destined to Kotroni./LGKN heliport, Marathon aerodrome, or overflying this area should contact Kotroni APP freq. 120.90MHZ, before entering Kotroni CTR. 4.3 Whenever Kotroni APP is not operating, the above mentioned acft should contact Athinai Information freq . 130.925MHZ or 119.75MHZ or MIL 285.0MHZ). 4.4 Aerodrome traffic circuits for Marathon A/D East of the RWY, for Kotroni Heliport Soulhwesi of the RWY 12/30 and Northeast of RWY 03/21.
