Chapter 1: Introduction

Under the transport system of Thailand the most using transport way is road which is the highest ratio at 83% of all annual amount of transportation. In Thailand has highest percent of road transport because it proper with Thailands geography, easiness, readiness and low cost. In addition, In Chiang Rai there is not sea port that contact to other provinces sea ports and the weight of products are over load for using air transport. Moreover, there is no railway and railway station in Chiang Rai, so we cannot distribute agriculture products from this way. The overall perspective of Chiang Rai province is as follow;

Agriculture product of Chiang Rai in year 2010: In-season rice 693,880 tons Cassava 44,504 tons

Agriculture product of Chiang Rai in year 2011: 2

Off-season rice 344,583 tons Corn 293,491 tons Lychee 9,251 tons Pineapple 21,268 tons

Note: the information derived from the Office of Agriculture in Chiang Rai

Chiang Rai has a very high proportion of agriculturist that mean there are many large quantities of agriculture products in stock. This agriculture products need to be distributes to support the unlimited demand in the market. In general the agriculture products of Chiang Rai are distributes to other provinces in Thailand and also export to other country. For that reason the transportation business is very necessary for agriculturist in Chiang Rai. Furthermore, in the future there will be opening R3A transportation between China, Thailand and Lao, this would be benefit to transportation business to become boom and rapid growth.

This chapter contains detailed information of agriculture industry and its current situation. Another part is information of the business, including its product and service, vision, mission, and the strategy of the company.

2.1 Nature of Industry

Even since the past until today Thailand have been trading and exchanging products with various countries. Agricultural product is the main product that exports from Thailand and Industrial product and Petroleum are import products from other countries. So we can say that transportation is important to international commercial. Transportation business is a service business that provides a delivery product to the destination. There are two type of transportation; Domestic transportation and International transportation. Normally Thailand located close with the ocean, so we use water transport at most because its quite convenient and easy for transporting product. 3According to Port Authority of Thailand reported that There are 11,553 ships enter to the port in Bangkok Port and Laem Chabang Port in 2554. But we cannot use water transportation to transport the product in some countries because of those countries are not located closely with the ocean. Thence, we have to use air transportation in this case. For the road transportation we use this system to transport the product with our neighbors countries for instance; Myanmar, Lao and Malaysia. In the international transportation business there are three big companies; DHL, Logwin logistic and FedEx. Today technology pay an important role in transportation business, it has been developing to adapt for using with various business. Therefore, transportation business becomes to use the technology in form of gather information, equipment, machine and service. The result is high and rapid growth of transportation

business world market. So many companies try to use new innovation and technology of transportation system to satisfy local and international customers need.

Table 1: Volume of Inbound and Outbound International Freight by Transport Made

Domestic transportation there are many way to distribute the product thought inside of country such as railway, road, air port and water, but the most using is road transportation. Thailand is an agricultural country; agriculturist has always been Thailands number one occupation, it is the most important occupation for Thai people. Thence there are large quantities of agriculture product that need to be distribute to other provinces of Thailand.
4

According to Thailand Transport Portal reported that there are 348,773 of transportation

business entrepreneurs in 2554, all of them are transport by road. The product includes agriculture product, vehicle, petroleum, chemical substances and electronic devices.

Chiang Rai is an abundant province where an agriculturist is the number one of occupation of people. 5And the number of agriculture product that distribute from Chiang Rai by estimate 1,397,726 tons per years. So the transportation business is very important in Chiang Rai this business will help the agriculturists transfer agriculture product from rice

mills and famers directly at fields and distribute all agriculture products to Bangkok and perimeter. Therefore, our service is seem likely to be success and persuade to invest because as we can see from number of agriculture product that produce in Chiang Rai have many tons per year which around 1,397,726 tons. Moreover, from the estimate sale forecast it show that first year our service has sale forecast at 257,540 Baths. For the second years our sale forecast our run a business is 348,690 Baths which is respectively increasing from year 1 until year 5 at 505,640 Baths.

Our distribution uses high way number 1 road for shipping the goods which pass

2.2 Situation of Industry

At the present, Transportation business by land face the problem of gasoline price because the problem of decelerate in world economy that has effected to Thai economy. From the statistic of Ministry of Transport found that the most domestic transportation gateways that depend on the road are about 85 percent which is agricultural products, domestic animals, construction materials, fuel, and kitchen utensils.
7

According to the prediction of Kasikorn research center, there are 426 million tons that transport by the road, from preceding the totally of last year is 428.1 million tons, so there is 0.5 percent was dropped from 100 percent in last year and expanding about 0.1 percent. So, the cost of gasoline problems seems not to be a main point for the road transportation. However, from these problems are given the advantages of Thailand because

geography. So, it will be good opportunities for transportation business by road among these problems. Moreover, they will help Thailand has the opportunities to be the center of transportation in provincial which will be good affect to both of transportation business and economy. The mostly transportation and logistics facilitators in Thailand are SMEs entrepreneurs. From the information of information and technology center, OSMEP found that the transportation and logistics have total number of 102,222 entrepreneurs: 99.9 percent are SMEs entrepreneurs and 99.5 percent of all entrepreneurs are small business entrepreneurs. Its reflecting to limitation in development that will provide comprehensive services in term of capital, technology, and logistics knowledge, includes with network service providers. Moreover, also found the most entrepreneurs in transportation and logistics will be major for land transportation (not including train transportation). The percentage of all entrepreneurs in the transportation and logistics are 22.5, 36.9 and 20.5 respectively which quite almost are the SMEs entrepreneurs and the most products have transportation in Thailand is agricultural products, petroleum and miscellaneous.
8

The Office of Agricultural Economics has estimated that the agricultural economics in 2008 would grow by 4.4 percent. 1. Farm prices received for the major commodities, i.e., rice, cassava, oil palm and maize were high enough to be conducive for the farmers to expand their production. 2. The world production of main crops, rice in particular, declined due to the natural disasters in many producing countries. Thus, there were greater demands for the farm commodities in the world market which caused rising in prices of the agricultural products.
9

The demand of consumers is changing significantly and the need of being comfortable is increase, nowadays as the population is growing, thats why people who doing transportation is growing too. Even though doing transportation business having high risk but too satisfy the need of growing population, the investors still keep investing in this business.

Also the price of slowly increase in agricultural products make the transportation business survive. Thats why farmer are using land transportation in deliver their products as they have low price. Thus land transportation is one the important logistics in a country.

The above chart shows the lists of demand of goods transfer in Thailand during 2010. As you can see from the chart that rice has the highest demand in domestic transportation and rice is the main things that our JTY transportation company focusing on. The demand of transporting rice is more than 15,000 this shows a good opportunity and chance for us to be able to do this business smoothly. The next goods that we transfer are corn. In this chart the demand is not so high but that does not mean there will be no demand. But the other chart is quite high, other means that any other agricultural products like pine apple, lychee, longan, etc. All of the products include corn, pineapple, lychee and longan will be the substitute of rice because rice is not growing in all season. Thats why we have to find the substitute for rice to maintain the profit of our company. The agricultural goods are what we going to delivery from Chiang Rai to Bangkok. As we dont want our trucks to be empty when coming back to Chiang Rai, we are going to fill

our truck with agricultural and construction materials like cement and fertilizers. From the chart the cement and construction materials is consider to be high. This will be very benefit for us as we do not waste money when driving back to Chiang Rai. The fertilizers are less demand but we still have a chance to delivery back because Chiang Rai farmers would need fertilizers for their plants.

Figure 5: Road transportation

The graph above shows the growing of land transportation from 2552 to 2554. We can see that during those three years the growth of Thailand transportation is increasing continuously. The growth of percentage from 2552 to 2554 is 1-3%. It may look small but if we take a look at the number of tons per kilometer, well that it has increased from183, 000 to189, 000 which is quite a lot per tons. There are many reasons that make the transportation growth during those three years. In the start of 2554, theres amount of expanding in the quantities of transportation in Thailand from 2552 and 2553 because theres a support from agricultural industries that is

15

also expanding more than what is expected. Moreover, the transportation of agricultural products is highly developed as the price of transportation has not changed much. And the markets of other consumers products are also expanded by the highly consuming of farmers as they have high profit too. The cause of little increasing of wages, interest of workers is benefit for people consuming and investing , thats why the transportation is keep developing as the graph shows above. From these information, we can sure our transportation company will developing too as the growth of Thailand is higher that will lead to the increasing of demand of using transportation.
13

For the conclusion, in Thailand from all 9.9% of SME business, the business that doing transportation and logistics are 22.5, 36.9 and 20.5. Most of products those transport are agricultural products, petroleum and miscellaneous. As we delivery agricultural products, there are more chances for our company to survive. Moreover, rice that we mainly transport is the highest demand of transportation in Thailand and the growth of Thailand transportation is recently developing more and more which make us sure that in the future our JTY Company will make millions of profits.

2.4 Vision
To be the number one of transportation business in Thailand

2.5 Mission
We will have a training course to train our employee by professionals in transportation before providing service to customer and use differentiate service to attract customer. We will have team for coordinate with customers and ready to solve problems. We have punctual transport and low price than other companies to respond market need. We have insurance products of customers. We will have willingness to take care customer as the same as they are family.

2.6 Strategy
Strategic management is a process that evaluates and controls the business in which the company is involved; assesses its competitors and sets goals and strategies to meet all existing and potential competitors. The strategy of the company can divide into 3 levels; corporate level, business level, and function level.

2.6.1

Corporate Level

In corporate level, we decide to use two strategies; Conglomerate Diversification and Stability Strategy. Both of strategy has specific unique that we think it could push the company to be success in market. There are two reason that why we use those strategy to compete with competitors. The first reason, we use Conglomerate Diversification to expand our customer target. The second reason, we need to maintain our service stability which tries to sell our service in order to meet the standard quantity that company set.

Project Feasibility Study of J.I.T Transportation Company

Chapter 2: Industry Profile

18

14

The Conglomerate Diversification strategy that our company uses; we are a new business

which transport agriculture products so this means our company customer are agriculturalist. For the future after we improve the profitability and the flexibility of the company. We expect to appeal a new group of customer, expand the customer group. We will become to transport more product that not only agriculture product.
15

Stability Strategy occurs when the external environment is highly dynamic and

unpredictable so sometime it is better to make no change or running and processing the business with caution. However, stability strategy is not a do nothing approaches but it can be designed to increase profits by improving efficiency in current operation. After everything become stable a company can continue run a business as normal.

2.6.2

Business Level

In business level, we use price leadership strategy to set up price. For the newly business we have to set price lower than competitors because there are a lot of competitors which have same target consumer. So we think the way to make competitive advantage to compete with competitor, it is using price leadership strategy which is a concern more about price of transport. Normally the agriculture product must be sent in large quantity in once time. So if our price of transport lower than competitors, it possible change consumer mind to use our service. Moreover, we are also concerning on safety and time during the delivering the product until end to consumer.

2.6.3

Function Level

Functional level strategy composes of human resource management, logistic management and marketing management. These strategies are supporting the strategy in business level.

Human Resource Management Human resource management has responsible for hiring the best employees and training employees in order to provide a good service. Human resource functional will concern about employment process. In the first when applicants are applying the job. They have to do the questionnaires which are related with their service perspective. The questionnaires can evaluate applicants which they have a good view about service or not, it will affect to provide a service to customer when applicants are employed. In addition, after applicants pass for the questionnaires test. The next step is checking profile or background of applicants that if applicants are going to be our employee, they need to have all the job qualification that company want to be. However, employees still need to get the training session to improving service quality and it is the way that prepares employees before going to provide service with customers. All employees are trained to improve a knowledge about transportation include with process of drive, maintain and check before transport to customer. Figure 6: Process of employment and improving service quality Conducting the questionaires to evaluate service perspective of applicant Checking profile and beckground of applicant which fit with job qualification in each positioning Training session

Logistics Management The logistics management of the processes involved the planning, process and control, and including control of the organization. Its including data management and work about of money, storage of the product16, collection of the product and product distribution about agricultural. The logistics management is very important for us as we are a company that provides service by delivering. Company are focused on the effectively service and effectiveness by minimize the time and the mistaken during shipping, also enlarge the security of the goods before arrive. Delivery service will be best if we can send faster to minimize time and itll be effective if we can send to the right customer with right place, moreover, make the goods arrive safely17. It takes into consideration the needs and

satisfaction of customers important. The agricultural products can distribution by the various companies to use that control route travel deals Chiang Rai and have expertise to know the route well, but if customer is not satisfied in services of the company. The company will repairs and make the best of them. In addition, the logistics management and control of transportation from producers to consumers, our company is a company used to hire staff to help us in distribute of the product. Example, Nim See Seng Company is big company for transportation in northern part of Thailand.

Marketing management As we are a new company that will enter a new market, first we need to have customers, so we are going to attract the customers by placing an interesting marketing plan through communication that can access everywhere, so that the customers can see the differences from competitors. To achieve that goal, we are going to start with finding customers, in finding customers we cant use the same types of methods as other business do like advertising, leaflet, posting posters18 because our main customers are the owners of rice and other agricultural industry, so well be the one that go in to our customer talk to them and attract them. Well find customer around Mae Chan because our company locate there and to get customer royalty from local business near our company. Another ways are advertise in local newspaper, local radio in Mae Chan, Chiang Sean and Mae Sai. Promotion is a very effective method to get attention from our new customers. For our very first promotion, we give a special promotion for new customers by offering special price, treat them well with services and responsibilities in order to gain their trust and satisfy them19. For events and experiences and public relation, we will become sponsor in Chiang Rai events and festivals like Flowers festival, Song Kran festival, etc as many people visiting the festivals, so that people will recognize us and we can building a good relationship with them, even that they may not be our customers but we can build our brand image. We also provide training for our employees before sending them to work to make customers feel comfortable in using our services and in order to make decisions quickly by themselves when problems occur. Although our company is logistic company, our main service is to deliver goods but we concern about the time, responsibilities and the relationship with customers for the long-term of doing business together. __________________________

3.1.1

General Environment Analysis

Political Government has policies to be regulations concerning the transportation by truck. Mechanism is important contribution in increasing the ability for managing transportation. And increase its ability to competitiveness of shipping trucks in Act. No person shall take a vehicle with strong or dangerous conditions or cause damage health to users or the public. Laws concern the transportation, including in the truck has the engine gases, dust, smoke or noise exceeds the threshold, the law requires the use of the highway. The development routing Specials for truck and management systems to be connect the transportation many forms. So should be consider the private sector with the benefit of all sectors involved to prepare a public hearing on the project to provide

a routing specials truck as well. Therefore, there are also available problems about prices goods and other agricultural goods extension office to determine the increased rate. The government will provide continued support for agriculture. Problem to political issues that affect every business are problem about oil that affects the transportation business and business owner about agriculture to have their truck. If prices for oil higher than the cost, while commodity prices remain the same, which enable farmers to reduce their cost. The effect of price oil uncertainty cause difficulties in transportation goods resulted in severe shortage and goods not enough to satisfy customers. Agricultural business must rely on suppliers to transport and the customer sometimes, if suppliers cannot supply in sufficient quantities for the needs of markets or customers. The damage to the business enough likes the heart of the business activities due to the lack of transportation

Economic Transport services are at the heart of the Thailand economy in transport goods. Now, government is strongly supporting agriculture. For examples, the government provides policy to guarantee higher price for rice increase in the market for agricultural products to develop their business to high levels and cognizant of the country, view from GDP of the transportation of agricultural has increased because people are interested in cultivate result from to guarantee price of product.

Table 2: Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Thailand in 1991 - 2007

17 Source: Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board Prime Minister's Office.

The change good political in the future, ready to operate efficiently and business can respond the needs of the people truly can be driven GDP of Thailand and help Thailand's economic growth have high. According to Kasikorn Research, in 2010, previous years product price is the motivation for agriculturists to increase the production and the price of agricultural products is in a good rate, especially the price of rice and sticky rice, which has increased from last year, due to the increased demand in consumptions.
18

In contrast Thailand have to concern

about climate change and policy of government then Chiang Rai is considered an area with optimal climate for cultivation, with sufficient rain and good soil; it can increase the agricultural production. However, this depends on the climate for each year; the climate change effects to amount of products are decline impact from nature disaster while amount of products, so demand of transport of products may be decreases

K-Research holds the view that transport sector operators should take advantage of the opportunities offered by economic routes within the GMS (Greater Mekong Sub-Region) and BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral, Technical and Economic Cooperation) schemes . Over the short-term, emphasis should be placed on transport efficiency, cost saving measures, market expansion to acquire new customers and the implementation of effective business synergies. In the end, truck operators should brace themselves for liberalization in transport and logistics. Focus should be on the use of NGV, pooled funding for investments into new transportation and logistics technologies plus greater transport within the GMS and BIMSTEC member countries.

Social According to department of agricultural extension, Chiang Rai has 1,255,387 populations, GPP for the year 2006 is 50,093 million baht, increased from the last year by 9.38%, and revenue per person is 38,332 baht per year. Main business is agriculture (31.03%) and this year trend unemployed rate higher more than 1,000,000 persons then they will return to agriculture.
20

The effect from general environment for agriculture is the main factor that

affects to transportation business because if a population majority interest in the farming, the number of agricultural products has increased as well. Resulted in the transportation business will be given the opportunity in growth and expend business to other province and to other country. Social changes may have a major impact on business:
21

The number of privacy truck in agricultural field is rising causing our business has less opportunity to get more customers because they have their own truck to transport their products instead of our business. Societys habits and tastes are changing. People are more aware of the importance of the environment and becoming green consumers. 3.3 Marketing Mix Strategy

3.3.1

Products & Services

Our transportation company provides intangible product through logistics thats on time and safe from Chiang Rai to Bangkok and from Bangkok to Chiang Rai. We have delivery any products like agricultural products and equipments, constructing materials and parts of automobile materials. We start our business with 10 trucks. As our company delivery any products, there will a risk in no steady of customer, so we decide to focus on agriculture products because our company located in Mae Chan which is near Chiang Rai that is popular for fruits and vegetables in any seasons. In all of the fruits and vegetables, we mainly focus on rice as the rice industry send rice in large to Bangkok. For the larger rice industry, they have their own truck to delivery but they cant delivery all the big amount at a time so they would hire outside company to delivery for them, thatll be a good opportunity for us and for small rice industry that doesnt have truck we can provide a full service delivery for them. We have to deliver goods to Bangkok often, thats why we will buy a place at Bangkok to locate the branches of our company to be more convinces for our customers in Bangkok too. From Bangkok we also deliver any products but we will more focus on agriculture equipment and fertilizers which are ordered by the farmers in Chiang Rai. Additional services from our company are: the call center to our company that the customer can ask about the company, the price of one time deliver or ask for advices, next is the free service t for the guests or customer who visit us like free drink and snack or snow tower. Place

Our company is transportation business that should have a way of getting the service to the consumer and how easily accessible it is to consumers. Our main target customers are the agriculture business and rice industries. There are many of rice industries in Mae Chan, Mae Sai, Chiang Saen, Nang Lae and hill tride. 1However our company chooses to set up the business place at Mae Chan because Mae Chan is located within center of that Mae Chan and Chiang Rai; it is also the passing line to go into town center or fresh market. So it is the opportunity that there are many our target pass our company and our has interesting logo that will get attention of the customer who are passing the road because our company also locate near the main road (Phaholyothin road) side. The place of our company have 5 rai 3 ngan 25 square wah and it is big enough for keep our trucks because our trucks have up to 10s. That location also have road passing through the front of our place and that road can passing to Chaing Saen by right turning to. The picture shown below is the map preview to our company,

49

However, our company is only one transportation company around this area, so no need to worry about the competitor near there. We use the segmentation strategies for consumer markets of geographic variable such as region, Urban and market density. Most of agriculture industries in Chiang Rai are in Mae Chan, Mae Sai, Chiang Sean, Nang Lae and hill tride. Most of the competitors are located within town so our company has much more opportunities to reach customer need and want because most of agriculture products or companies live outside of the town. So that, we predicted to buy more trucks in suitable amount of services in our company that sufficient demand of customers at the first period. The next period, the company will increase number of service for support increasing demand of customer. Company also located the offices at destination place such as Bangkok.

3.3.3

Price

Price plays a number of important roles in a market economy. Price influences both consumer and producer decisions and acts as a signal in the marketplace. We use price leadership strategy to set up price. There are 3 main routes from Chiang Rai to Bangkok and its necessary to use the common way for transportation. The routes contain the province such as Bangkok, Nakhon Sawan, Phitsanulok, Phrae until Chiang Rai and the distance is about 804 kilometers along the Paholyotin road. We have two strategies of service by using different fuel. First, for the regular job order we used NGV gas and it took about 261.04 liters from Chiang Rai to Bangkok price 700 per ton for our regular service. Second, the special job order (more quickly) by using Diesel fuel and its price about 987 per ton but our company only price 950 . The reason that we need to used fuel oil because there are lack of NGV gas in Bangkok and it hard to find. So the special job order is occurred. However, our price is variable based on the petro price, if the petro price rise, the price must be changed.

Promotion

Promotion is key factor to communicate with our target market. Our basic promotion is advertising, public relation and sale promotion. First is advertising, our purpose of advertising is to inform or persuade our targeted audience to use our service, visit a location, or adopt an idea. Well advertise in radio, spreading leaflet and poster and use car advertisement that will spread news through Chiang Rai, Mae Chan, Chiang Sean and Mae Sai because those place are the place that most of our target customers will be. To be more effective in our advertising, we will go in and represent our company to our target customers who are owner of rice and other agricultural products. Public relations tools are effective in developing our company attitude toward the society and can enhance the credibility of a product. Public relations activities have the drawback that they may not provide an accurate measure of their influence on sales as they are not directly involved with specific market. Well also ask the customers feedback or some advices about our service by using questionnaire and interview to check that our service meet their satisfaction and change according to the customer behavior. This means there are large quantities of agriculture products that include sticky rice, or paddy rice, brown rice, pineapple, cassava, lichee and corn. Therefore, agricultural sector has a largest percents if compare with other sectors so we consider that we will transport agriculture product as a main product.

From Chiang Rai the product that almost sent to Bangkok are agriculture products because Chiang Rai has many agriculture products. Bangkok is a place of manufacture most product that people in Bangkok need is rice, vegetables and fruits, so we divide group of customer into 3 groups; rice mill, wholesaler and agriculturist. Moreover, Chiang Rai is a land of agriculture; in contrast Chiang Rai needs some product like agriculture equipment and construction equipment to use in construct building. Furthermore, Chiang Rai is developing economic which focus on expand market and economic to Lao and china by use R3A road. So we might gain advantage from this because there will be a lot of new building occur. So that means the demand of construction equipment is higher. We will transport construction equipment from Bangkok to Chiang Rai to fulfill the demand.

From a picture show that rice mill has highest percentage which takes 50 percents of customers, Wholesaler is only 30 percents and Agriculturist is 20 percents. According to the agriculture product that our company serves is a seasoning product. Rice is a seasoning product which harvest In-season rice during in November until January and Off-season rice is March until May. So, as the result we analyze that we transport rice most which is around 6 months for transport In-season rice and Off-season rice. Therefore the rest of months we will transport fruit.

55

As most population of Chiang Rai has occupation of agriculturist then demand of construction equipment and agriculture equipment are higher. Nowadays a number of agricultural equipment that needs to transport to Chiang Rai is 70 percents which divide time period of transport into 2 times by forecasting time in the future of do agricultural before 2 months of In-season rice. We will transport equipment which use in In-season rice in February until June and Off-season rice in August until October. Moreover, the rest of time that we are not transport agriculture equipment, we will transport construction equipment instead. Furthermore in the early future this number will be increase because first, there will be a new road construct between Lao, China and Thailand that road is R3A. The result is increasing the demand of construction equipment to construct that road. Second, we expect that there will be construct more building in both central and suburb to support that R3A project. So we focus on transporting construction equipment to Chiang Rai.

Calculation method
Cost of using gasoline and NGV per truck Our company use new truck to transport the agriculture product. We have 10 trucks for supporting a service, 9 trucks of using NGV and 1 of diesel. According to the research of Dr. Kamneay Apipatchayakun found that truck that uses NGV it can run 3.08 kilometers per kilogram and 1.8 kilometers per liter. As the distance from Chiang Rai to Bangkok have total destination of 804 kilometers, moreover; each truck can loading 18.5 tons. So the cost of using energy can calculate as follow:

NGV = destination / quantity of using gas per kilogram = 804 kilometers / 3.08 per kilograms = 261.03 kilograms *According to PPT price of NGV is 7.5 baths then, multiply with 261.03 is equal 1,957.725 baths per truck. And each truck can load 18.5 kilograms. Then, actual price divide by kilograms of loading per truck = 1,957.725 / 18.5 = 105.82 per ton Hence, cost per ton of using NGV equals to 106 baths per ton.

Diesel = destination / quantity of using gas per liter = 804 kilometers / 1.8 per kilograms = 446.7 liters *According to PPT price of diesel is 29.49 baths then, multiply with 446.7 is equal 13,173.18 baths per truck. And each truck can load 18.5 kilograms. Then, actual price divide by kilograms of loading per truck = 13,173.18 / 18.5 = 712.06 per ton Hence, cost per ton of using Diesel equals to 712.06 per ton.

Price per ton As a survey from many competitors found that price of transporting is starting with 750 1,000 baths per tons, furthermore; our company is a new company so we design to set price lower than competitors for attracting our customers By setting price of truck that uses NGV is 700 baths per ton and 950 baths per ton of truck that uses Diesel. Moreover, our service has a special round provide to customer in high season. The period of cultivate rice in September until January this is a high season of rice. January is a last month of rice season that all agriculturists collect rice and send to rice mill and transport to other provinces.

Analyze round of transport

From Chiang Rai to Bangkok; Normally one truck spends 4 days, special rounds 3 days for transport from Chiang Rai to Bangkok and we have 10 trucks and truck can drive both Diesel and NGV but we provide truck for drive in special rounds 1 truck only because demand of special rounds have limit for month to have festival. So a total normal round that company can provide is 70 rounds per month for month to not drive special rounds but have special rounds or 1 truck company can provide is normal round 63 rounds for 9 trucks and special rounds 10 rounds per 1 truck. Year 1: In year 1 we are new transportation company so, we will provide transport all normal rounds because customers may be not trust about special rounds can transport to quickly and we will drive amount rounds about 30 rounds from 70 rounds it is share from competitors a little bit. Year 2: In year 2 we ever transport products for partnership result to customers will increase amount rounds to transport with our company about 40 rounds increase from year 1 estimate 10 rounds and in January, December will provide 30 normal rounds and 8 special rounds because have New Year Festival to transport will to stop transport because it is policy of government to facilitate and help reduce accident, so demand of customers to need transport by special rounds for respond to customers in Bangkok. In April have Songkran Festival and in May is the most last month to rice mill will export rice to Bangkok so, they will use service special rounds. Year 3: In year 3 amounts to transport products to Bangkok increases is 50 rounds but in month January, April, May and December will have special rounds about 8 round and have normal round 40 rounds. Year 4: In year 4 the customers have trust with our company for transport products so, amount rounds to can transport is 70 rounds as full rounds to can transport for 10 trucks and in the rainy season is July, August, September and October may be decrease about all 10 rounds or 1 round per truck result from truck will slow drive. Year 5: same with year 4 because demand to transport will stable from year 4

From Bangkok to Chiang Rai; The amount of trucks to use service for transport from Bangkok will transport about construction materials and agricultural equipments. The most is transport of agricultural equipments in February, March, April, May, June, August, September and October. It is the month to Wholesaler to sell about agricultural equipments in Chiang Rai will prepare 2 month before time for cultivate rice (Accoroding The Chaipattana Foundation In-season rice cultivate when rainny season ans Off-season rice cultivate when winter season

to sell agriculturists without month to transport agricultural equipments will transport about construction materials. Year 1: The amount to transport from Bangkok is same amount to transport from Chiang Rai because in year 1 have trucks to use transport less than demand to transport from Bangkok. Year 2: The amount to transport from Bangkok is same amount to transport from Chiang Rai because in year 1 have trucks to use transport less than demand to transport from Bangkok. Year 3: The amount to transport from Bangkok is decreases about 1 round per truck or about all 7 rounds from 10 trucks but in March, April, May, June, August and September will transport product equal amount to transport from Chiang Rai because it is high season or high demand to need to transport agricultural equipments from Bangkok to Chiang Rai. Year 4: The amount to transport from Bangkok is decreases about 1 round per truck or about all 7 rounds from 10 trucks but in March, April, May, June, August and September will transport product equal amount to transport from Chiang Rai because it is high season or high demand to need to transport agricultural equipments from Bangkok to Chiang Rai. Year 5: The amount to transport from Bangkok is decreases about 1 round per truck or about all 7 rounds from 10 trucks but in March, April, May, June, August and September will transport product equal amount to transport from Chiang Rai because it is high season or high demand to need to transport agricultural equipments from Bangkok to Chiang Rai.

3.5 Marketing Expenses

A marketing expense is an estimate of projected costs to market your products or services. A typical marketing budget will take into account all marketing costs. Our marketing expense is concerned with marketing communications for example, advertising, promotion, public relation, events and experiences, etc. For advertising, we divided into advertising in radio, car advertisement, leaflet and poster. We will advertise in FM radio 88.50 MHZ at Mae Sai. For radio, it has three part, first type is advertise every advertising time for 3,000 baht a month, second type is advertise 6 times a day for 2,000 baht and third type is advertise 4 times a day for 1,500 baht. In the first time of advertising, we use first type of advertise and get promotion for 1,000 baht and we use every type. The cost of car advertisement is 1,500 baht per month, we advertise every two months and reduces years by years and for poster maximize costs 2,000 baht and reduce later. Our sale promotion is worth for 30,000 for every year. Another marketing expense is public relation, events and experience. In order to make people recognize us through events, we are giving the sponsor for Chiang Rai events, 5,000 for one event. The events are the festival which sells agriculture products in December and January, Pineapple and Lychee festival in May and Fruit Festival in August as it can create a grapevine among people which lead to the image of our company with positive attitude. For experience, we had provided training for our employees within the organization. We have a special training in the month of June and December which are the month of less transport during a year for 3,000 a month. We make sure that every employee is qualified with specialty during recruitment and every driver has car licenses. We also hire the expertise outside company to teach how to behave in front of customer to become well manner and how to quickly solve problem in different situation. We also make sure our drivers know the exact the location and the amount to prevent the mistake during delivering. For product insurance which is important for us if an accident occurs, we bought a insurance that will pay for us every accident, it worth 17,500 baht per year and pay at the end of year.

4.4 Conclusion

One of the biggest problems investor face when looking to buy an investment property land and machine, tool and equipment. First of all, we must remember that the goal of investing in a property of land is to realize strong long term capital growth. Its consideration at historical data and considers the pattern of capital growth over the last 10-20 years with the nearest locations. In secondly, it must be considered the cost of machine, tool and equipment about the potential returns to worth with the cost. Firstly, the company is the transport company which has to choose location that convenience about the land and road. And to get the higher long term growth investing, the company choose to located in the center of Mae Chan district, Maeng Rai road, Chiang Rai Province. Its around 5 km from the Northern of Mae Chan Junction and around 15 km from the Southern of Mae Sai. This location is including of two main business district of Chiang Rai. The company has been prediction about the long term growth investing if make the investment between that two junction. In this conclusion, that all why the company choose this location to buy an investment property of land. For the layout of the company, its divided into two parts that the first part also include two partition of the room, the first room is the service center which by the entrance door is located by the left side of the office room. In front of the service room are the car parking which is for customer and employee to park their car. The second part of whole company is located at the left side next to the service room; the yard or place must be huge area because the company has the trucks up to 10 trucks which must need much percentage from the whole area. Then next interesting thing is the company also located nearby the Phaholyothin Road. Surely, this road is the main road of Thailand which may have a lot of business opportunity to the company. To have the huge potential returns which worth to the cost that investing to machine, tool and equipment. How a company gets the highest quality with the cheapest cost of any equipment? Its almost impossible to have such lucky condition like that. However, the best way for this case is to manage the cost based on the other companies or the competitor. The company involves Machine, tool and equipment.

Calculate computer expense = Watt of monitor + Watt of CPU = 28.5 + 300 Watt = 328.5 Watt

(Watt * 10 hours * 30 days)/ 1,000 = (328.5Watt * 10 * 30)/ 1,000 = 98.55 KWH/Month Note: 10 Hours is number of hour of working per day.

Hence, the unit of energy charge is 3.6246 Bath then, multiply with 98.55 KWH is equal 357.21 Bath per month * 5 computers is equal 1,786.05 Bath

We have one computer that turn on all day for checking GPS; Calculate computer expense = (328.5Watt * 24 hours * 30 days)/ 1,000 = 236.52 KWH/Month Hence, the unit of energy charge is 3.6246 Bath then, multiply with 236.52 KWH is equal 857.27 Bath per month. So total expense all computers per month is equal 2,643.32 Baths.

Calculate refrigerator expense = (Watt*Number of Refrigerator* Number of hour per day)/ 1,000 = (125 Watt*1 * 24 hours)/1,000 = 3 units per day

Hence, 3.6246* 3 units is equal 10.9, so multiple with 30 days is equal 327 Bath per month.
62

Calculate lights expense = (Watt*Number of lights* Number of hour per day)/

1,000 = (40 Watt* 6* 10 hours)/ 1,000 = 2.4 units per days Hence, 2.4* 3.6246 is equal 8.7 per day, so 30 days* 8.7 is equal 261 Baths per month

Calculate spotlights expenses = (Watt*Number of lights* Number of hour per day)/ 1,000 = (400 Watt* 2* 12 hours)/ 1,000 = 9.6 units per days Hence, 9.6* 3.6246 is equal 34.79 per day, so 30 days*34.79 is equal 1,043.7 Baths per month

6.2.2

Water Supply

Water supply is mostly used for washing equipments. We choose to use the city hydrant water, because it is qualified to use for washing the equipments and Trucks and it is safe to use for washing body. The calculated amount for water supply used in the business is approximately 20 units per month, which 1 unit to 10 units it cost 12.13 per unit and 11 units to 20 units it cost 14.92 per units, total is 270.50 Bath per month.

8.1 Risk Management

Transportation Business is the main occupancy for Thailand to transport agricultural products, but it is one of the businesses that can be affected by many factors. The rate of demand to transport therefore has a good rate, but as business can be unstable sometimes, the demand for transport will be changed in some situations. For examples, price of gasoline and NGV or a decrease in price agricultural products will discourage agriculturists to make cultivation, and will directly decrease the demand to transport agricultural products. Therefore, in order to counter with uncertain situations that might affect to the company, it is necessary to have risk management. This process can reduce the loss of profits for the company. Followings are risk management plans for J.I.T Transportation Company; There are 8 risks consist of; risk from competitors, risk from accidents, risk from environments, risk from price, risk from financial, risk from technology, risk from opportunity lost and risk from employees error.

The figure above shows the six risks of our company. They include the financial, competitors, accidents, climate, opportunity lost, price, and technology and employees error. For financial, competitors and accident have the high impact on our company because they are likely to occur. In those three, accidents have high probability to occur most as we cant predict when and where it will happen. Climate, Opportunity lost and price is moderately impact on us as we cant predict them and the price has probability to occur most as its always changing. For the technology and employees error, its just the minor problem for us because we can solve those problems by keep in touch with technology and keep employees high motivation.

Risk from Competitor Every business has to face the risk and our transportation also has many risks. From analysis of the risk, our competitors also the important risk. As we are the new company who enter the new market, we cant guarantee that we will have the customer because its the nature of customers that they will keep on using what they have normally used. To attract the customers we promote our company through advertising, public relations and our special promotion to gain their trust that our service is safe and advantage them.

Risk from accidents There is uncertainty of business that we have to face them like people are mobbing in Thailand. If the mob happens, we will avoid using the normal route and use to other paths to transport goods to customer because our business has to carry on. This solution will be use again if the flooding happens in Thailand. Accidents happen every year and we cant predict what and when will happen and the best way is dont let the accident happen by checking the safety of truck before transportation. If there is an accident that cause by fire and it affect our office and truck was can use the insurance that we have bought for building and truck.

Risk From technology An error of GPS due to uncertain of GPSs signal can be the sources of many uncertain problems in the future. Risk to GPS signal can be managed by communicate with other system or develop a combined GPS and augmentations system design based on cost and performance trades among GPS system improvements.

Risk from climate Each year there are climate problem such as difference patterns of rain, storm and earthquake that may impact to people and organizations. These risks arise from normal dayto-day, seasonal, and year-to-year variability in climate as well as regional climate differences. Most organizations have practices and strategies in place to deal with this routine climate variability. For these organizations, climate variability will continue to raise challenges and risks that have to be managed. Therere different climate risk,by using carves to cover the cargo when its raining or storming and earthquake GPS or use the

information from news or some sources about more frequent of earthquake may cause or increase the stress on emergency services and hospitals.

Risk from opportunity lost management Due to the business is the transportation business when it using the truck to transport the goods to destination. There is the opportunity from the back way from destination that truck should carry goods in the back way. For best strategies is used to be pre-order. PreOrdering is the best way to challenge this risk.

Risk from oil price Nowadays oil price is fluctuating, which effect to our company when the oil price is high; so we will use NGV instead of oil to reduce cost. Because NGV price has lower cost than oil price but it will take more long time for transporting. Moreover, oil price also affect to our company even it decrease. Rice mill may think that if they use their own truck to transport will be cheaper than using our service. Therefore, we solve this problem by reduce the price of freight to fit with economic and not to be exploit.

Risk from employee error Every business has to face the risk and our transportation also has many risks. From analysis of the risk, our competitors also the important risk. As we are the new company who enter the new market, we cant guarantee that we will have the customer because its the nature of customers that they will keep on using what they have normally used. The risk of employees is also effect to our business. The bad behaviors and manners of employees like they do not have motivation to work, less job responsibility, being late and conflict with customers, this problem can be solved by having Human resources division to manage them by giving reward, punishment and training.

As the table above, if cost of product has increased to 1%, 2%, and 3%, net income does not decrease as much. On another case, if Sale has decreased to 5%, 10%, and 15%, the payback period does not change. However, our company has a planning to bear those risk such as if cost of product increased, our company also will increase on price of product following cost. Then, if sale decreased, occur company will reduce the inventory in order to decrease expense and increase cash flow of company. Finally, financial risk management is analyzed in order to suppose the situation that might in the future and how do company effect with that risk.

8.2 Conclusion
There are many factors that can directly impact to our company. However, there are also solutions to control, prevent or solve those conditions or situations. There are the risks up to 8th situation of the risks that consist of; risk from competitors, risk from accident, risk from environment or bad climate, risk from price decrease and increase on gasoline and NGV, risk from financial economic recession, risk from technology Trouble of GPS, risk from opportunity lost from free-round transport and employees error such as; low motivation in working. Situation given there is higher competition in the market, is risk that our company needs extremely management essential. As we are the new company who enter the new market, we cant guarantee that we will have the customer because its the nature of customers that they will keep on using what they have normally used. To attract the customers we promote our company through advertising, public relations and our special promotion to gain their trust that our service is safe and advantage them. The second risk is risk from any accident within the current condition in the company. There is uncertainty of business that we have to face them like people are mobbing in Thailand. If the mob happens, we will avoid using the normal route and use to other paths to transport goods to customer because our business has to carry on. This solution will be also used again if the flooding happens in Thailand. If there is an accident that cause by fire and it affect our office and truck was can use the insurance that we have bought for building and truck. Each year there are environment problem such as difference patterns of rain, storm and earthquake that may impact to people and organizations. In situation of bad climate, is a risk in the level that our company should give management effort; the shop can adjust the inventory according to the cultivation pattern of the given climate. If the climate is dry the shop will increase inventory for water supply. In contrast, if there is too much water, the shop will increase supply for cultivating plants in watery climate. For these organizations, climate variability will continue to raise challenges and risks that have to be managed.

An error of GPS due to uncertain of GPSs signal can be the sources of many uncertain problems in the future. Risk to GPS signal can be managed by communicate with other system or develop a combined GPS and augmentations system design based on cost and performance trades among GPS system improvements. The risk from opportunity involve that the carrier must be consider for shipping goods without any free round of the trunks. Due to the business is the transportation business when it using the truck to shipping the goods to target. For best strategies is used to be preorder. Pre-Ordering is the best way to challenge this risk. The non-linear nature of historical oil and gas spot prices makes prediction very difficult. Which effect to our company when the oil price is high; so we will use NGV instead of oil to reduce cost because NGV price has lower cost than oil price but it will take more long time for transporting. Moreover, oil price also affect to our company even it decrease. Rice mill may think that if they use their own truck to transport will be cheaper than using our service. Summary
From this project feasibility, we have found that the growth rate of Transportation business to transport agricultural products is growing with an increasing rate. This project is practical as the number and information have shown opportunities in this business. The market of agricultural industry is large, with large demand; the current existing competitors supply is still not enough to satisfy all demand of the market. Moreover, agriculture is considered a business with high competitive strength, as agricultural products are necessary to both domestic and international market. According from the field study the most in rice mill to Mae Chan, with the research and information that have been gathered and studied, supported by the current market situation, economic and social condition of Chiang Rai, it is an agricultural province which most citizen are living as agriculturists. These make Transportation business still have high growth rate in this area, and tend to have a better transport trend in the future because transport have important for drive agricultural products to market Our transportation business is based on the market of Thailand and Chiang Rai Province and transportation is important for business that wants to distribute agricultural products. The transportation of us help products distribute well which provide help to customers company. The transportation business is growing continuously; to enter the market. Thailand have been trading and exchanging products with various countries. Agricultural product is the main product that exports from Thailand and Industrial product and Petroleum are import products from other countries. So we can say that transportation is important to international commercial. The most transportation for domestic will using is road transport. Moreover, Thailand is an agricultural country; agriculturist has always been Thailands number one occupation, it is the most important occupation for Thai people. Thence there are large quantities of agriculture product that need to be distribute to other provinces of Thailand. Chiang Rai is an abundant province where an agriculturist is the number one of occupation of people and the number of agriculture product that distribute from Chiang Rai by estimate 1,397,726 tons per years. So the transportation business is very important in Chiang Rai this business will help the agriculturists for transport agriculture product from rice mills and famers directly. Therefore, our service is seemed likely to be success and persuade to invest.

The agricultural goods are what we going to delivery from Chiang Rai to Bangkok. As we dont want our trucks to be empty when coming back to Chiang Rai, we are going to fill our truck with agricultural and construction materials. This will be very benefit for us as we do not waste money when driving back to Chiang Rai. The growing of land transportation from 2552 to 2554, we can see that during those three years the growth of Thailand transportation is increasing continuously. The growth of percentage from 2552 to 2554 is 13%. It may look small but if we take a look at the number of tons per kilometer, well that it has increased from183, 000 to189, 000 which is quite a lot per tons. In sale forecast, our company forecast the revenue and expense from number of agricultural products have in Chiang Rai and agricultural area, number of customer in Chiang Rai and Bangkok, amount of demand agricultural products and time period of service of each product in each year such as we will concern amount of time to use per round consistent with demand of agricultural products and The most important to In sale forecast is really to our company is new brand in first year may be have less profit but in later time after 3 years profits of company have increase every year. Our service is related with seasoning products such as In-season rice, Off-season rice, corn, lichee, pineapple and cassava. From reason as our company is new entry, the customers do not know us as well. Therefore, marketing communication mixed is used in order to attract customers that make them to know and recognize our company such as radio88.5 FM, sale promotion, event and gift. We forecast sale estimate in five years, the accumulate sale is approximate 60,000,000 baht in five years. We think first two years our service could not service as much as our expected, but after two years, our service has been increasing higher. The service of the company are Normal round and Special round by normal will transport by use NGV and amount time to use for transport in normal round about 4 days, While, Special round by Fuel and use time in transport 3 days. About services, There are three kinds of service processes: General Services, Call center services and after sale services. Our company gives information to our customer about their problem and the company will advice how to solve it by advice all of our customers with good condition to keep relationship.

Employee is important part of company; they are main point to force our company in order to achieve a goal. The positions for employees consist of top managers, customer assistants, housekeepers, transportation manager, repairers and accountant. The company sets standard and select people with sufficient skills and quality to become employees, to execute the expected performance for the company. Transportation Business is the main occupation for Thailand to transport agricultural products, but it is one of the businesses that can be affected by many factors. The rate of demand to transport therefore has a good rate, but as business can be unstable sometimes, the demand for transport will be changed in some situations. There are many factors that can affect Transportation Business. There are 8 risks consist of; risk from competitors, risk from accidents, risk from environments, risk from price, risk from financial, risk from technology, risk from opportunity lost and risk from employees error. However, there are solutions to prevent or solve those situations, as stated in risk management chapter to counter with uncertain situations that might affect to the company because this process can reduce the loss of profits for the company. According to the number being referred from this project study, we can see that the number in Transportation business to transport agricultural products is high, because of the landscape factors along with the climate that is supporting agricultural activities.
