PART-1 1 what is the difrences btwen 2k , 2k3 and xp? 2. WHAT IS THE FUNCTION OF DHCP?

DHCP- Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol This is use for providing IP address automatically to client computer through DHCP server. ROSA is technical word use for working of DHCP server. R-Request firstly client send a request via broadcasting. O-Offer DHCP configured server received the request and offer a ip address to client machine. S- Send client accept the offer and send this information to all PCs & server in a network. A- Accept the ip address
3. HOW DHCP CONFIGURE? 4. What is the new major feature introduced in Exchange 2003, which was not included in Exchange 2000? 5. How can you recover a deleted mail box ?

In Exchange, if you delete a mailbox, it is disconnected for a default period of 30 days (the mailbox retention period), and you can reconnect it at any point during that time. Deleting a mailbox does not mean that it is permanently deleted (or purged) from the information store database right away, only that it is flagged for deletion. At the end of the mailbox retention period, the mailbox is permanently deleted from the database. You can also permanently delete the mailbox by choosing to purge it at any time.

6. what is the use of ESUtil.exe ?

You can use the Eseutil utility to defragment the information store and directory in Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 and to defragment the information store in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server and in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. Eseutil examines the structure of the database tables and records (which can include reading, scanning, repairing, and defragmenting) the low level of the database (Ese.dll).

Client Access Client request for mail are fetched by this Role Browser-based clients using either the full-featured Outlook Web Access (OWA) or a new OWA Light client Mobile devices via Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) Phone devices via Outlook by Phone POP3 or IMAP4 clients, such as Outlook Express and Eudora Hub Transport Responsible for all internal mail flow Inbound mail are accepted by Edge Transport and passed on to Mailbox server and all outbound mail is relayed from the Hub Transport to the Edge Transport and out to the Internet. Edge transport Edge Transport server handles all Internet-facing mail flow, which provides Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) relay and smart host services for the Exchange organization. Unified Messaging Unified Messaging combines email, voicemail and fax into the Exchange Server databases, and makes this data available to mailbox users via both telephone and computer. Exchange 2007 System Requirements PROCESSER x64 architecture-based computer with Intel processor that supports Intel 64 architecture AMD processor that supports the AMD64 platform Intel Itanium IA64 processors not supported

Upgrade Tip It is not supported to upgrade Exchange 2007 RTM to Exchange 2007 SP1, and then upgrade your operating system to Windows Server 2008. Complete Fresh Installation of Ex-2007-SP1 on 2008 is supported

9. what is RPC over Http ?

I'd explain RPC over HTTP as a secure way of leveraging the HTTP connectivity built into the Outlook Web Access (OWA) part of Exchange to connect directly to the server using Outlook without using a VPN. Basically, if your organization already allows use of OWA, they do not need to open up any more ports on the firewall to do RPC over HTTP. In other words, if you are already using OWA, RPC over HTTP gives you the same connectivity between the full Outlook client and the Exchange server that you would get if you were connected to your company's network directly, but you don't need any other special software and there is little, if any, further risk to the network.

Other people can talk about IMAP and other similar technologies, but in my mind they don't really rival what you get with Exchange, Outlook and RPC over HTTP.
