Listening to God is an art form of prayer that brings out your creativity and draws you into the presence of Jesus. It allows the Holy Spirit to work through you as you read the Scriptures to discover the treasures that are in the written Word of God. Once discovered this art becomes a way of life as you journey with Jesus on your own road to Emmaus. You soon discover your eyes are opened and life becomes a communion with Jesus as you break bread together. Listening to God is a healing form of prayer where your expectations come from Jesus rather than from yourself. In listening you receive a personal message for, Jesus is always whispering to you.

INTRODUCTION

hrough the years Psalm 23 has become one of the favorite portions of Scripture. It is used by both the Christian world and the secular world. One can see it used in a variety of group gatherings. Because of this I have used Psalm 23 to reflect on lifes milestones, from birth to death, asking the question what would Jesus say at this important time in my life. It is interesting how the love of Jesus appears at these times. Because in English we have so many different translations of the Bible I have included some of these for Psalm 23. Each has its own quality as it expresses the love and care of the Shepherd. As we listen to Jesus speak I have also included a number of other Psalms. They are written in the first person of Jesus rather than from the psalmists perspective. In our Journey with Jesus it is important to learn to pray the Scriptures. For this reason some Psalms include a prayer which helps to put that psalm in our daily walk.
