SOP Mendaftar ke Universitas Riau Bagi Mahasiswa Asing Procedures to Study at University of Riau :General entry requirements:1) meet all academic standard required by universities in Indonesia;2) receive a full offer of admission from Indonesian Higher EducationOffice;3) submit a statement of substantial funding verification toward Bachelor's,Master' s or Doctoral degree studies;4) submit documents verifying standard health conditions, signed by arecognized doc tor or home country hospital;5) submit a statement of complying with Indonesian university regulations.Specific entry requirements:All international students intended to study in Indonesian un iversitiesundertaking academic programs, professional course work, language andc ulture classes or practical training programs should provide the followingdocume nts:1) a full offer of admission from university.2) a letter of recommendation from the Indonesian EmbassyOfficials/Consulate Genera l.3) a curriculum vitae (resume/personal data).4) a certified copy of secondary level certificate/diploma and academictranscripts. 5) guarantee statement, indicating financial ability to undertakeeducation within I ndonesia, in the form of a bank statement.6) a copy of current passport. The passport must be valid and current forthe period of study in Indonesia.7) Personal statement of complying with visa conditions for not workingduring study periods in Indonesia, and complying with Indonesian lawand regulations.8) a letter of sponsorship from institutions/ agencies or family inIndonesia suppor ting the student's intention of studying in Indonesia.9) a (red-background) passport photo of 4 cm X 6 cm.10) a medical report issued by authorized home country institutions orhospitals.Stud ents undertaking practical training programs should also submit a letter of reco mmendation from Indonesian universities or institutes where they study.Extended study permit:Should a student need to extend his/her period of study in Indonesi a, theuniversity should request an extended study permit to the Directorate Gene ralof Indonesian Higher Education. Supporting documents for obtaining theextende d study permit are as follows:1) a student's academic progress report2) a letter of Self Residing Report (SKLD) from the local Police Station.3)

a copy of current passport.4) a copy of Limited Stay Permit in Indonesia (KITAS)5) a curriculum vitae or resume.6) a statement of substantial funding verification toward students' studies. 4 Should an applicant receive an offer of admission, the university becomes thefac ilitator or sponsor of the applicant during the study periods in Indonesia.Then we will request the applicants study permit to the Ministry of NationalEducation of Indonesia. After the study permit has been issued, UR will assistyou to get a limited stay visa (VITAS) for 12 months; issued through the nearestIndonesian E mbassy/Consulate in your country.It will take at least three/four months to arra nge the study permit and visa.We strongly suggest you only leave for Indonesia o nly with this kind of visa(VITAS). Do not ever try to use another visa such as C ultural Social Visiting Visa(VKSB) or you will have to go to Immigration office every month for extensionand have to leave Indonesia after 6 months to get a new visa.The 1st semester begins from September and the 2nd semester from February. The stamp from Immigration Officer at your first arrival of Indones ianAirport must have the following words written: Permitted to enter and due tore port at Immigration Office in Pekanbaru within 7 (seven) days from datehereof..When you arrive in Indonesia you should within 2 weeks of your arrival : 1. Register at OIA, submit 2 photos (1 of 23 cm and 1 of 46) 2. Ask a sponsor letter from UR to be brought to the local immigrationoffice to get KITAS. The required documents for KITAS note 1 3. Pay the tuition fee at BNI Bank. Account information can be found innote 2 4. Reimburse the fee of study permit (Ministry of National Education) andVisa Autho rization (Directorate General of Immigration) at BNI Bank 5. Go to the program/faculty and bring along the copy of Registration formand tuiti on fee payment 6. As soon as you finish reporting yourself in local immigration office(usually aft er two weeks you will get KITAS) then you should go to thepolice for STM & SKLD.
