Rocking Horse

MATERIALS:

• 4 pieces of 2x10, 8' long of no. 1 pine, for the legs, head-neck piece, and to laminate the
body
• 1 piece of 1x10, 8' long clear pine, for cheek pieces, saddle pieces, and rockers
• 1" dowel, about 12" long, for hand-holds
• A ball of yarn for the tail and mane

BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS:

• Cut out body shape and laminate to 3" thick, round over edges and sand smooth
• Cut out legs and bevel top portion down to 1" where the leg attaches to body, so the leg
will splay out just a bit, and attach with screws and glue
• Cut out head-neck piece and attach cheek pieces, screw neck to body
• Cut out rockers and attach to outside of legs. Add 1x3 floor boards
• Drill 1/2" holes in neck and rump and insert knotted yarn with a dab of glue to form mane
and tail
• Insert 1" dowels in side of neck
