Were back! I hope you are all well rested from your Christmas break, Cody and I had a wonderful time in Japan. While the weather was cold, at least it was dry unlike the sodden New Years here in New Zealand :-/ Before I carry on, I must say congratulations to Tina and Clifford on their marriage last weekend. Logan and Ashley filled us in on all the details and it sounds like it was a wonderful event. Also we have an official welcome to Jacob and Grace who started at school with us last week after moving up from Nelson in December. Both of our new students have settled in nicely, and I am sure Micah and Logan are quite pleased to have another boy to join our rather pink classroom :-) And finally I would like to also welcome Michael and Ian, from the Education Review Office, who have come to visit for two days. I managed to organise blue skies for their visit (another skill of mine ;-) so hopefully they will be so dazzled by it, that they dont notice my inevitable spelling mistakes in the weekly newsletters.

Pukeokahu School Horse Trek 2012

Timahanga

2012 Pukeokahu School Horse Trek Insert YAY!! Its horse trek time again. For the new comers to the district our horse trek is run by the hall committee but the funds raised go directly to the school. It is a full on weekend for those guiding the trek and those back at base feeding the hungry trekkers so all hands on deck are needed! As far as catering goes we provide the following over the course of the weekend: A casual dinner Friday night. Full cooked breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning. Lunches Saturday and Sunday A delicious dinner Saturday night. This year we are based at Timahanga Station and due to this location Saturday nights salads will be made on site. The help received from the community is the only way our trek continues to be a huge success. Any donations of food for catering is greatly appreciated. We are also on the hunt for baking as well. Opposite is a list of food that is required to cater for the weekend. If you are able to donate anything, help by baking, making a salad or help with preparation Friday, Saturday and Sunday please give Claire Law a call on 388 1414. Any form of help is gratefully received. We also need: A large coleslaw and lettuce salad made for Fridays dinner Lots of yummy baking for morning teas, afternoon teas and lunches. Bacon x 8 packets. Meat for dinners especially Venison or Mutton in whatever quantity (please contact Clifford 3881787 if you can help with this).
