General Information:
Livin’ the Music is a non-profit organization (501c3 pending) that was founded on the idea that
music can, and will, change the world ~ the purpose of Livin’ the Music is to use music to bring
light, love & hope to those in need. At each event, a local non-profit is selected. Livin’ the
Music’s purpose is to educate the public on the showcased non-profit organization and how
it benefits the community. Livin’ the Music wants to do whatever possible to help the selected
non-profit achieve their goals in the community.

www.livinthemusic.org Over the past year, Livin’ the Music has produced events for the Lili Claire Foundation (helping
special needs kids) in Nashville and Los Angeles, for The Los Angeles Inner-city Lacrosse Association (teaching inner-
city kids Lacrosse) in Los Angeles, for The Voice of the Wetlands (coastal conservation in Louisiana) in Baton Rouge,
LA, and for CAN-DO (providing disaster relief world-wide, hurricane relief in Louisiana) in Baton Rouge. These events
have been very successful in helping these organizations in their individual missions.

Livin’ the Music’s involvement doesn’t end with the event. Some of our artists, personnel and volunteers are also
involved in on-going projects with The Lili Claire Foundation’s Nashville and Los Angeles family resource centers, CAN-
DO’s hurricane relief efforts in Southern Louisiana; and on Thursday, January 8th, to celebrate our 1 year anniversary,
Livin’ the Music will help Soles4Souls launch their "Takin' it to the Streets" campaign. On the 8th, we will be going to 4
different places in Nashville (homeless shelter, women's shelter, etc) and fitting the people with shoes. A different group
of artists will join us at each area to help. January is the heart of winter in Nashville. I know that a pair of shoes may not
seem like that much, but when you don't have them...it is. Livin' the Music is joining together with Soles4Souls on
January 8th to "Take it to the Streets" in Nashville.

At 6PM we will end our "shoe drive" at 3rd and Lindsley where Livin' the Music will host our 1 year anniversary event,
benefitting Soles4Souls. Our events have the basic structure of a songwriters round, but they are not your typical
songwriters night. They are a place where the artists can relax, have fun and collaborate with fellow songwriters.
The evening consists of 3-4 writers rounds and either a jam round or a closing band at the end of the night. Each
round is approximately 1 hour in length (45 minutes of entertainment and 15 minutes for changeover).

We have a growing network of gifted songwriters whose music has a positive message - who believe music can, and
will, change the world. It is incredibly inspiring to find people from all walks of life, across all genres of music, with the
same message of optimism. Livin’ the Music would love for you to join us as we spread this energy and awareness. We
are looking forward to you joining us in our mission. Music is the vehicle for the message.

a home for himself in Nashville. Jon Coleman is: B-3 Player, Piano Player, Singer, Songwriter. After

Roy Parnell, Steve Azar, Chuck Wicks & Randy Houser, and writing with Ken Johnson, Glenn Snow,

Lafayette, LA when he joined Thomas “Big Hat” Fields’ Zydeco Band in 2003. Since

Louisiana..’s 1 Roots Music Export! Guitarist-singer Tab Benoit is the real deal. Born and
raised on the Louisiana bayou, this self-proclaimed “new kid from the old school” has been

Bekka Bramlett one of the most in-demand vocalists today. With her unique and all-encompassing
personality, Bekka has never known the struggle of “fitting into” a new environment. She

the 2006 Singer/Songwriter Awards; is featured on the upcoming videogame game,
SPACESTATION:SIM; won “Best Rock Song” from the Philadelphia Chapter of the
Recording Academy’s Demo Review, and was nominated at the Philly Music Awards for

Teresa James is a Texas born and bred green eyed singer's singer. Some have compared
Teresa to Delbert McClinton, Janis Joplin, a green eyed Aretha Franklin. Some fans have said

Teresa sings, you can feel it in your bones!". Teresa brought along her husband, music partner,

Steve Haggard is an acclaimed producer here in Nashville, and one of the founders of Wild Oats
Records, which recently celebrated its 20th Anniversary. His brand-new CD Love Conquers All is

Records artist Kimberly King, Steve hosts a weekly program on WRFN/Radio Free Nashville.

Melissa Bollea is a successful songwriter living and working in the music industry. She is also a
published writer for Blue Mountain Arts greeting cards. She lives, loves, laughs and gives with
all her heart. Her greatest passion is songwriting. The music dances wildly in her soul. She has
been fortunate enough to experience a great amount of success since moving to Nashville and
pursuing music full-time. She writes with talented artists and writers and has her songs actively

Wendy Newcomer is an Americana/country singer-songwriter originally from Asheboro, North
Carolina, now living in Nashville, Tennessee. In 2006 she released her self-titled CD, with
original songs influenced by heroes including Emmylou Harris, Loretta Lynn, Patty Loveless,
Guy Clark and Tom Petty; and interpretations of songs by some of her favorite writers. She
made her Grand Ole Opry debut in 2000 and released her debut EP, "Raised On Promises,"
in 2004. In 2005, Newcomer was a semi-finalist in the ASCAP-sponsored International
Songwriting Competition. In 2007 Newcomer was selected to play the RedGorilla Music
Fest and the Atlantis Music Conference and Festival. In April 2008 she was a winner in the
MerleFest Chris Austin Songwriting Contest. She’s currently a featured artist on AOL Music and OurStage.com.
She's now writing songs for her next album.

Steve began his comedy career at the age of five, when he was requested for a command
performance before England's highest dignitaries, juggling sixty-three watermelons while playing
the trombone. From there, Steve went on to Kindergarten, where he majored in finger painting
and graham cracker spitting. At the age of nine, Steve got his first really big break in show
business, headlining at Caesar's Palace with his Sabre-Tooth Walrus act, now legendary. Sid
Caesar said of Steve, "What a geek." However, the commute to Las Vegas from Steve's
hometown of Wilmette, Illinois, proved to be too much. At fifteen, Steve was learning how to play
the guitar, and by age seventeen had gotten four of the strings on. In college, Steve formed a
neo-punk bubble-fusion group called Imperial Trout Farm, which landed a record deal with a small but well-
respected Cambodian label. But the 90s found Steve floundering, unsure, and smelling pretty bad. His spirits were
low, his health was failing, and his car was getting only four miles to the gallon. Steve heard the voices, and they
were saying, "Get into comedy before you run out of gas money." Steve moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he
became a regular at Zanies. His bizarre humor kept the audiences begging for more liquor, which made the club
owners grin. The road was calling, and Steve was ready to answer: "What? Are you talking to me?" he asked.

Andrew Adkins is an active writer in the Nashville community. He is known in and around the
local/regional rock scene as lead guitarist and co-vocalist for the popular indie-rock band,
MELLOW DOWN EASY. Over the last several years he has established himself a growing
reputation amongst the country, rock, pop and Americana writer cliques around Music City.
Andrew's music has gathered praise from artists such as the legendary Johnny Cash, alt-country
rocker Ryan Adams, members of Lynyrd Skynyrd and The George Jones band. He was voted
one of the 'Top 3 Local Songwriters' by readers of the Nashville Scene magazine in their 'Best of
2006' issue. Recently, Andrew has been in and out of the recording studio working on material
for an upcoming MELLOW DOWN EASY album as well as his first solo project. Look for both to be out sometime
before the end of 2008.

What’s in a name? In the case of fORMER, quite a bit. Rising from the ashes of several defunct
Nashville acts and seemingly dominated by former members of this or that band. Pop hooks
backed with a wall of guitars, a powerhouse rhythm section, three-part vocal harmonies, and
just enough ivories and strings to earn their ELO merit badge, has proven to be a potent
combination, earning the band multiple nominations in Nashville Modern Rock station
WBUZ102.9’s Local Rock Awards, winning “Best Song” for their tune “Lies”, as well as “Best
Alternative Band”, and “Best Bassist” honors in their annual Listeners’ Choice Awards. fORMER have supported
such national acts as Staind, Breaking Benjamin , Luna Halo, Night Ranger, The Exies, Nonpoint, Eve 6, 12
Stones, Cowboy Mouth, Evan’s Blue, Three Days Grace, Bang Camaro, John Corabi, and more, and continue to
perform throughout the Southeast and Midwest while wrapping up work on their debut full-length to be released in
the Fall of 2008.

Born and raised in music city, Laurianne Cates is no stranger to the music scene. If you’ve seen
her in concert or heard a recording, then you’ve discovered what makes her so unique. Sure,

heartfelt lyric. But very rarely does someone combine these two vocations with such grace as

Jen Kober lives to make people laugh. Originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana, Kober now lives
in Los Angeles where she has quickly become a nationally recognized headliner, bringing
crowds to their feet with her original blend of stand-up, story telling and improvised rock-n-roll
comedy. Clasically trained at the theatre school of DePaul University in Chicago, Jen is also and
acomplished actress. She has studied improv at both Second City and Improv Olympic. Jen has
also toured successfully with her improvised one woman shows, “Junk In My Trunk” and “My Big
Fat Comedy Show”. Kober’s one hour stand-up special, “Mind The Flap” is set to air soon and
she is the star of her own cooking show that is in post production.

Research Turtles is a four-piece, indie-rock band from Lake Charles, LA. Its members-
brothers Joe and Jud Norman, Logan Fontenot, and Blake Thibodeaux- have been touring
the south together for over two years as the cover band, Flamethowers. In the summer of
2008, however, the cover band decided it was time to form an all-original band, Research
Turtles. The band’s debut album, “Time Machine EP” will be released officially on November
14th but can be downloaded for free from their myspace page. Their EP contains seven
songs recently recorded by the band. Research Turtles will continue touring the south this fall to promote the
album. The band is currently in the studio working on their second EP.

Kevin Simon hails from the bayou region of south Louisiana, growing up among south
Louisiana waterways and sugercain fields. Kevin has been emersed in south Louisiana rock

young age of 17 . When Kevin isnt preforming he is attending his senior year of high school in
New Iberia LA. Besides preforrming his music Kevin runns cross country and track for his

time to write and hone is skills as a country music artist. With his smooth tender voice and songwriting skills

Tribal Butterfly began as a whimsical, throw caution to the wind road trip from LA to L.A.
back in 1999, and although Brad and TJ have made it back to Louisiana, their journey
seems to have only just begun. A rock-n-roll romance that would read like a manuscript,
their performances are anything but scripted. Aside from the fact that they are amazingly
talented musicians with credits to boot, as performers they are intimate while seemingly

the loss that we all know too well. Take the chopper ride to an oil platform in "7 and 7", where the
waves and the thoughts of being home drown the monotony and solitude of the virtually migrant
Louisiana Oilman, or walk through the "Woods" on a brisk Louisiana morning on his day off, but
in true Dean fashion, don't forget the ritual of kicking back on Saturday night for a few cold ones with close friends
and family. These songs give it to you straight, and in this work, Dean and company continue to give us the same
genuine perspective that has earned our ear twice before. Four and a half Mile Markers out of 5.
