The primary responsibilities are as follows: Provide instruction to patients while maintaining an orderly and disciplined structure in the classroom. Develop special interventions for patients unable to function within the classroom setting and assist in curriculum development. Participate in patient treatment planning and staffings when necessary. Complete patient lesson plans and maintain all records as required. Maintain an adequate supply of appropriate instructional materials relative to patients age and functioning level. Participate in case management activities as required. Assure compliance with applicable laws pertaining to psychiatric treatments Provide a safe, secure, therapeutic and professional environment at all times Lead by example and champion the philosophy of Service Excellence Job Requirements: Bachelors degree required; Masters Degree preferred. Valid Illinois teaching certificate required; certification in Special Education preferred. 1-3 years teaching ED/BD children and/or adolescents preferred. 1-3 years experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting. Possess effective teaching skills and educational strategies with a special education population, individual and group management skills, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and crisis and behavior management. Must be self motivated, results-oriented individual who is customer focused.
