STATION VISIT

DZJM JAM 88.3 1.1 History DWJM-FM was originally launched as a smooth jazz radio station, Citylite 88.3 under the callsign DWCT-FM, and owned by Francis Lumen, With its studios at Strata 2000 Bldg. It played smooth jazz and rhythm and blues from May 27, 1988 to June 30, 2003 competing directly with 105.1 Crossover and Kiss Jazz 101.1 (now Yes FM 101.1). On October 1996,

Citylite 88.3 launched on the internet with its live streaming on the old website, After 2 years, Raven Broadcasting Corporation was acquired by The Radio Partners, Inc. while Francis Lumen switched to Joey @ Rhythms 92.3 (now U92). In March 2001 - June 2003, it was known as Smooth Jazz Citylite 88.3. On June 30, 2003, after 15 years on DWCT-FM, Citylite 88.3 bids farewell. In July 1, 2003, Raven Broadcasting Corporation relaunched the station as Jam 88.3 (it also changed its callsign to DWJM) to cater to a larger more advertiser-friendly audience. Jam 88.3 was originally launched as an "easy listening pop" station. Within a year of launching, the station quickly established itself as a popular trend-setting station in The Philippines with unique programs and segments. Jam has a reputation for discovering new talent and music. It is largely recognized in the Philippine music industry for starting the Acoustic music trend of 2003 and 2004. The station can also be credited for propelling the return to prominence of OPM ( Original Pilipino Music ) beginning in 2005. The radio format has since developed into a mixture of music - collectively defined as lite pop alternative, then dropping the entire "less talk more music" feel.

TRANSDUCER: Dynamic Cardioid Microphone (Electro-Voice RE27N/D)

General Description: The Electro-Voice RE27N/D is a professional quality dynamic cardioid microphone designed for broadcast production announce and voice-over, high-quality recording and sound reinforcement application. The RE27N/D utilizes a revolutionary neodymium-alloy magnet and a reinforced diaphragm dome, a combination offering increased sensitivity (up to 6-dB more output), undistorted output at high sound pressure levels and an extended high-frequency response. The exceptional sensitivity of the RE27N/D excellent transient response and inherently low noise of the dynamic transducer, all combine to ensure a superior signal-to-noise ratio, easily comparable to the finest condenser cardioid microphones, to further reduce noise, a highly effective hum-bucking coil is used to attenuate hum from lightning and other sources. The RE27N/D's continuously Variable-D, design reduces bass boosting "proximity effect" to maintain a uniform low-frequency response, up-close or at a distance. Two easily operated bass roll-off switches, offering a sharp low-frequency cut at 200Hz or a gentle roll-off, are available for special situations where bass attenuation is required. A third switch is available for reducing a high-frequency treble boost. The true of uniform cardioid polar pattern of the RE27N/D offers the greatest radiation of 180 degrees of axis, insuring superior gain-before-feedback. An integral blast and wind filter covers each acoustic opening on the RE27N/D, allowing "close-talk" situations with no worry of "P-pop" breath sounds or excessive sibilance. Part of the filter also shock mounts the internal microphone transducer, reducing the transfer of vibration from external sources. This shock-mount system along with the extremely rugged exterior steel casing allows the RE27N/D to withstand all the rigors of professional use.

MIXER: Dynamax MX Series Modular Audio Console

7

A TRULY MODULAR CONSOLE

The Dynamax MX Series is a true breakthrough in the field of cost effective audio mixing consoles. Never before has such a combination of quality and features been offered at such an affordable price. The MX Series asks you to make no compromises. Each input module includes ALL of the active circuitry necessary for its operation. The MX Series precision motherboard has no active electronic components, so youll never to dissemble the entire console to replace a single minimizes hand wiring, and totally eliminates flimsy and awkward ribbon cable bussing. Many other consoles claim to be modular, but close inspection reveals that the modules carry only switches and faders. In these consoles, active circuitry in mounted on the motherboard, defeating the prime purpose of modularity: keeping the console on the air during maintenance or repair. SUPERIOR FLEXIBILITY The MX Series delivers output flexibility that rivals substantially more expensive consoles. Stereo Program and Audition outputs are assignable from the front panel. Two separately assignable mono outputs are incredibly useful for telephone mix minus. Mono simulcast feeds, cue feeds for remote broadcasts and more. Each input module features external logic switching for starting cart machines. CD players and other audio sources when the module is turned on. Each module provides dry contacts, a continuous logic level or a pulse. Every input module has two inputs, one of which may be configured as a mic by use of an optional mic preamp residing on the module. All line inputs may be wired for stereo or mono input sources. Line inputs may be either professional or consumer format, eliminating costly matching interfaces. Voltage Controlled Amplifiers ensure that your audio path stays clean and quiet. No audio passes through the faders, so dust and dirt cant cause scratches and pops. Even the monitor level pot is VCA controlled. THE RIGHT FEATURES

MX Series consoles have a spacious, easy to use layout, and are available with either rotary or linear faders. All modules feature a virtually indestructible control surface overlay, far more durable than paint or silk screening, guaranteeing that your MX Series console will look as good as new for years to come. The optional count up event timer can be triggered by turning on any module. A full range of actively switched cue and monitoring functions is provided, including a built in cue amplifier and speaker, and an amplified headphone output. Internal jumpers allow configuration of monitor muting and dimming to meet your operational requirements. The MX Series uses the highest quality components and construction techniques, resulting in excellent RF immunity and a rugged, sturdy product that will last for many years. The console s modular design and hinged hood simplifies routine maintenance and allows quick, easy access to all console circuitry.
