On March 20th, 2003 George W Bush gave the order to invade the Iraq of Saddam Hussein. Eight years later Saddam is gone and so has the US Army. The last troops left Iraq in the past week. We were also witness to conflict and hunger in Africa, Occupy Movements across the world, the 10th anniversary of 9/11, some great sporting events, the director of the IMF being charged with suspected rape, a crazy guy in Norway killing innocent people and nature showing us shes still the boss of us. Nature gave us tornados, floods, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions and who can forget the tsunami which hit Japan in March. Lets hope 2012 brings a little less violence, death and destruction. Along the road to one of Chinas most famous tourist landmarks the Great Wall of China sits what could potentially have been another such tourist destination, but now stands as an example of modern-day China and the problems facing it. Situated on an area of around 100 acres, and 45 minutes drive from the center of Beijing, are the ruins of Wonderland. Construction stopped more than a decade ago, with developers promoting it as the largest amusement park in Asia. My name is Igor Burdakovskij. I am 23 years old and live in Vilnius, capital of Lithuania. I love beautiful and creative photos. So recently i began to shoot. I do not have enough money to buy a good SLR camera such as Canon EOS or Nikon D series. So I take a picture with the old school striped camera Zenit ET, which produced the USSR in 80s. Taking pictures with this camera, I feel like killer, who have only one chance to get a perfect shoot. You can not see picture at the moment when you have shoot it like with any digital camera, so you can just guess how it looks like. Wed like to thank Igor for sharing his photos. I am principally an automotive photographer and have shot for a few publications here in the UK, my personal loves are projects involving landscapes and bizzare places. I have a couple of sets on Flickr that portray this, Noah Purefoy and Salton Sea. I am based in Berkshire England but travel worldwide, am about to relocate to the Highlands of Scotland to improve both my life and my photography.
