Human Resource Management (HRM) involves management elying less on hierarchy, instruction and command; and instead, becoming more participative and open. The aim is promote co-operative relations between management and employees and to avoid the often adversarial behavior associated with traditional industrial relation. Where HRM is successful the employees will be committed to the long term future of their organization and this in term, will help the organization adapt to competitive pressures. HRM requires a package of measure including, Employee involvement, relating pay to performance, care with selection and training; and fair treatment of employees; and the dovetailing of the personnel matters with other company policies such as production, marketing and sales. Many organizations have one or a few of these Companies elements but very few operate the Whole Package so fully pledged HRM remains and unusual management style. HRM is not confined to any one sector. operating HRM policies include not just IBM and mark an Spencer but also McDonalds. Some public sector organizations such as, British Gas, are inching their way toward this style.

COMPANY PROFILE:

The BANAHATTI SPINNING MILL LTD., was setup in the field of co-operation and under the KARNATAKA state Co-operative society act 1859. The mill was registered in year 1975 but the actual functioning of the mill was started in the year 1983. The working of the society was extended up to the JAMKHANDI and MUDHOL talukas of BAGALKOT. The Karnataka Govt. has provided 50 acres of land for 30 years period to the society of the lease bases. The construction work of the mill begins in the year 1981 and Completed its construction work in the year 1984. Due to constructors litigation, their have was delay in the work. The production business of the mill was commenced during the March 1984. The production of the yarn was initiated with 15080 spindles. The mill purchases raw material that is cotton from local market, i.e. JAMKHANDI & MUDOL taluk. It also purchases cotton of different quality from SAUDATTI, BAILHONGAL, DHARWAD and NARGUND & HIREKERUR. Other than these the mill also purchases cotton from MAHARASHTRA, GUJARATH & TAMALUNADU States. The has its Marketing center at Calcutta, Ludhina, Malegoan, Dahlia, Bombay and Inchakaranji.
