This Remit aims to raise an awareness of the use of colour in creating environmental mood and its psychological effect on the end users. Working procedure To generate physical evidence for your individual portfolio students are allowed to work in class as a team of Two or Three students. However, it is each students responsibility to write an individual review for this task. This review should follow the SIX STAGE PROCESS (See handout) and provide justification for the selection of a single base colour (hue), the selection of a colour scheme, and the selection and application of Chroma (intensity saturation), Value (lightness or darkness) as well as their application in Area and Proportion. You should then analyse the effect created including any suggestions for modification and improvement. A. Select a single colour that you as a group feel reflects one of the criteria from above. B. Select a colour scheme to go with the above hue (colour) you have selected. As a reminder the main colour schemes are Monochromatic A single Hue (colour) used in a variety of chroma (intensity) or value (lightness or darkness) Harmonious Hues lie adjacent (next to) each other on colour wheel Complementary Colours opposite each other on the colour wheel. You are strongly advised to read your notes on the advantages, disadvantages and application guides for the above colour schemes. C. Decide how you will modify the colours scheme selected by altering the colours Chroma (intensity - saturation) or Value (lightness or darkness) tints. See the handout A Digital Introduction to Interior Colour Schemes for how to do this
