ALM-21511 LAPD Link Congestion

Description
This alarm is generated when the length of the LAPD send queue exceeds the upper limit of the configured congestion threshold.

Attribute
Alarm ID 21511 Alarm Severity Minor Alarm Type Fault

Parameters
Name Subrack No. Slot No. Subsystem No. Link No. Port No. Bearing Subrack No. Bearing Slot No. Interface Type Site Index Site Name Ater Signaling Link ID PbSL Logical Index Meaning Number of the subrack where the XPU/EIU board controlling the LAPD signaling link is located Number of the slot where the XPU/EIU board controlling the LAPD signaling link is located Number of the subsystem on the XPU/EIU board controlling the LAPD signaling link Number of the LAPD signaling link Number of the E1 port where the LAPD signaling link is located Number of the subrack where the board bearing the LAPD signaling link is located Number of the slot where the board bearing the LAPD signaling link is located Type of the interface where the LAPD signaling link is located Index of the site where the LAPD signaling link is located Name of the site where the LAPD signaling link is located Ater signaling link ID where the LAPD signaling link is located PbSL logical index where the LAPD signaling link is located

Impact on System
The inappropriate setting of the congestion threshold or heavy traffic volume will slow down the service processing speed.

System Actions
When the system reports this alarm, it also reports the LAPD link state to the MTLS, an upper-layer module corresponding to the LAPD. The MTLS then automatically performs flow control based on the link state and sets the congestion attribute of the LAPD to congested. At the same time, the MTLS sends messages to the peer end (GBTS or PCU). If the length of the message queue is lower than the lower limit of the congestion threshold, a recovery alarm is automatically reported and the link state is reported to the MTLS. The congestion attribute of the LAPD is set to uncontested, and the MTLS continues to send messages.

Possible Causes
The congestion threshold is inappropriately configured. The recommended value for the upper limit is 90, and the recommended value for the lower limit is 80.

1. Check whether the alarm can be automatically cleared within one minute after its occurrence. YES=>The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete. NO=>The alarm persists. Go to step 2. 2. Check whether the congestion threshold is appropriately configured. a. Run the LST LAPDLNK command to check whether the congestion threshold of the LAPD link is set to a low value. Note that the recommended value for the upper limit is 90, and the recommended value for the lower limit is 80. YES=>The congestion threshold is appropriately configured. Contact Huawei Customer Service Center. NO=>The congestion threshold is inappropriately configured. Go to step b. b. Run the SET GTRXFC command to reconfigure the congestion threshold of the LAPD link. Go to step 3. 3. Check whether this alarm is cleared. YES=>The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete. NO=>The alarm persists. Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
