The most important thing for Christians to understand is that the gift of healin g and the exercise of the authority for healing is for the benefit of believers and unbelievers, of Christians, Jews and Gentiles. It is mainly for revival and evangelism, and not just for active Christians. To put it simply, miracle healing is for anyone, anytime, anywhere or under any conditions they need it. That is how Jesus demonstrated miracle healing. We see this primary focus of healing for revival versus evangelism in the case o f the Gentile woman, an unbeliever, who wanted healing for her daughter.

Matt 15:22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is gr ievously vexed with a devil. 23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciple s came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Isra el. 25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26 But he answer ed and said, It is not meet to take the childrens bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from the ir masters table. 28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Jesus makes it very clear in verse 24 His mission: Matt 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. So Jesus purp ose was revival, not evangelism as we usually use the words. Revival is to re-ig nite the fires of Gods love in the hearts of His covenant people, while we consid er evangelism for the unbelieving, those who are not Gods covenant people. In the New Testament these are called the Gentiles. Today we call them non-Christians.

Jesus ministry was mostly His very own these people estore that which had been emonstrated healing is for

revival among the Jewish people. God had called out for by covenant through Abraham. Jesus came to save and r lost to the sons and daughters of Abraham. So Jesus d revival among Gods people.

Walking in divine health is the standard for Christians and miracle healing is f or revival among Christians so they can then walk in divine healing and prosperi ty. 3 John 2 Agape/Beloved, I wish (pray, intercede) above all things that thou m ayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

After His ministry of Jewish revival and redemption for mankind, then Jesus comm anded that healing be used for evangelism among those where were not yet Gods peo ple, the Gentiles of the world in the great commission seen in Matt 28 and Mark 16:15-20.

Jesus did not command his disciples to do things differently when they went out into the world. They were to do what He had taught them for revival, so they wer e to go do the same for evangelism. Matt 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them , saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son , and of the Holy Ghost: 20 teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I hav e commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. A men.

In the gospels Jesus came to save the lost (those of Gods people under the oppres sion of the devil for any reason, and all the Gentiles of the human race). When healing the sick, Jesus was ministering to people who had not yet received the b enefits of the cross and resurrection. So His acts were by faith in that future work. After the cross and resurrection, healing is by fact, what Jesus accomplis hed as the Great and Mighty Arm of God.

Similarly, many of the healings in the Acts of the Apostles were for first for J ews, then unbelievers-Gentiles and then for Christians. So miracle healing is fo r all. The healing of an unbeliever in an evangelistic situation is based on the mercy of God. The person healed is entitled to the benefits of the cross and resurrect ion, because of the completeness of the work of Jesus, even though they have not yet surrendered to Jesus. The Father lets them have the benefits of the cross b ecause he is merciful and intensely loves them. The awesome work of Jesus 2000 y ears ago was for all mankind past, present and future. The most important thing for Christians to understand is that the gift of healin g is for unbelievers and for revival among disobedient or unbelieving Christians and Jews. Healing is mainly for revival and evangelism. Jesus ministry was mostly revival. He came to save the lost sheep of Israel, so w hen healing the sick, he was often ministering to people who had not yet receive d the benefits of the cross. From a practical perspective revival is harder than evangelism. When Gods people have hardened their hearts against God and His truth, they have a well of bitter ness and unforgiveness against God and each other. That is often a bigger wall t han for unbelievers or Gentiles who may never even have heard of Jesus or Christ ianity. Dead or spiritually asleep Christians are usually filled with unforgiveness and bitterness against God for past failures with God. (See the Parable of the Sower and the Seed in Matt 13, Mark 4, and Luke 8). Unbelievers dont know Gods laws and ways to be in unforgiveness toward God except in a general sense. In todays worl d many unbelievers have actually heard lies and derogatory stories about Jesus a nd Christians, but are usually not as hardened as dead or sleeping Christians. Compared to the past prophets or messengers of God, Jesus had a unique method of revival, which is also the same model for evangelism. He would preach the gospe l and then heal the sick and cast out demons to confirm his message. Or He would heal the sick and cast out demons and then preach. Here are some examples. Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good

news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people (Ma tt 4:23). He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of his disciple s was there and a great number of people from all over Judea, from Jerusalem, an d from the coast of Tyre and Sidon, who had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled by evil spirits were cured, and the people all t ried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all. Looki ng at his disciples, he said: Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Luke 6:17-20 Jesus method was to go to a town and heal someone who was sick. When a crowd gat hered to see what had happened, He would preach his message. The healing confirm ed Jesus message by demonstrating the power and compassion of God. When they saw the sick being healed, his listeners could not deny the reality of God or his me rcy in Jesus. They then wanted to hear more of what Jesus had to say. The opposite was true of the religious leaders who were afraid people would foll ow Jesus and not them. They could not accept that God was doing the miracles thr ough Jesus and instead accused Jesus of doing the miracles on His own or by the devil. Such is the challenge of revival versus evangelism. In revival using mira cles as Jesus did you will threaten those leaders who do not have a heart for th e people. John 5:44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not t he honour that cometh from God only (in miracles)? Luke 11:15 But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chi ef of the devils. 16 And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven. 17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided agains t itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth. 18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? becaus e ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub. 19 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your ju dges. 20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom o f God is come upon you. Jesus gave the same commission to work miracles, signs and wonders to his discip les. When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to d rive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to preach the kin gdom of God and to heal the sick (Luke 9:1-2). As you go, preach this message: The kingdom of heaven is near. Heal the sick, rais e the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have re ceived, freely give (Matt 10:7-8). The pattern is receiving authority to go and then preaching the gospel and heali ng the sick. We have the same authority to preach the gospel and to heal ised that, These signs will accompany those who believe: In ive out demons they will place their hands on sick people, . Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and hem and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it the sick. Jesus prom my name they will dr and they will get well the Lord worked with t (Mark 16:17-20).

Jesus promised that God would confirm the preaching of the gospel with the signs and wonders. Here is a case where the disciples first healed and then preached the gospel. Pe ter and John went to the temple and God healed a lame man (Acts 3). An amazed cr owd gathered so Peter preached to them. Several thousand came to faith in Jesus, because God gave authority to Peters words before he had even spoken. The same was true for Paul and Barnabas. Paul and Barnabas spent considerable ti me there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace b y enabling them to do miraculous signs and wonders (Acts 14:3). The Holy Spirit loves to confirm bold preaching of the gospel with gifts of heal ing and deliverance. This changes the nature of evangelism as has often been pra cticed for the last 1500 years. Only recently are we returning to the New Testam ent method of evangelization and revival. Normal New Testament evangelism is based round the healing of the sick and other signs and wonders. This is confirmed in Acts 8:5-6 Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclai med the Christ there. When the crowds heard Philip and saw the miraculous signs he did, they all paid close attention to what he said. The passage says that the Samaritans were amazed at the miracles, and records th at Philip preached the gospel. Luke assumed that proclaiming the gospel either p receded or followed the healing and miracles. In essence Luke could not conceive of preaching the Kingdom without demonstration of the authority of that Kingdom in signs and wonders, including divine healing. Modern Evangelism Most modern evangelistic campaigns are very different. The evangelistic meeting is often held in a church building, so a powerful publicity campaign is required to get people to attend. The evangelistic method is preaching a sermon, having an altar call and getting decisions. This method has had some success, but it is not the New Testament way. New Testament evangelism is healing the sick/casting out demons and preaching to the crowd that gathers. This method was very successful for the early church, s o we are unwise to do something different. Sickness is the key vulnerability of the modern world. Our affluent lifestyle has given people almost everything they need, but modern medicine has not been able to conquer sickness. A gospel confi rmed by healing of the sick will be well received. Jesus said, I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until y ou have been clothed with power from on high (Luke 24:49). If we do not have the power that we need for New Testament style evangelism and revival the answer is simple: we should seek the the power from on high (see als o Acts 1:4-5). I suspect that God would prefer that we do some serious seeking, so that we can do evangelism and revival his way, rather than rush into doing ev angelism a weaker way built only on the wisdom of men. Healing should be a normal part of revival and evangelism. The good news is that God is merciful, but a cynical world does not believe our claims. Healing demon strates Gods mercy and proves that Jesus is the Saviour and is now alive. The bes t visual aid for the gospel is for someone who is visibly sick being healed or s

et free. Strategy for Evangelism To simplify this discussion we will talk about evangelism and assume the same ap plies to revival. Healing Evangelism should use the following strategy. Evangelists must understand their authority over sickness. Jesus destroyed t he power of sickness, sin and the devil, and gave his followers authority over t hem. There are no limits to His authority and power. He healed: all diseases (Matt 4:23), all people who came to him (Matt 12:15), in all places (Luke 9:6) all works of the devil (Luke 19:10).

Jesus authority has not changed (Heb 13:8) and He has given the same authority t o us. As they go to share the gospel, either on a special trip, or just day to day , evangelists should look for opportunities to heal by noticing sick or disabled people. This can be in a private or public place. But when possible, look for a public place where a crowd is likely to gather. Jesus exercised his ministry in public and private, and it was always the will of God. One day as he was teaching.. And the power of the Lord was present for him to hea l the sick (Luke 5:17). and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and hea ling them all (Luke 6:19). Evangelists should learn to recognize the power of the Lord within them by faith in the scriptures and not by special feelings. They should be willing to go to places where Holy Spirit can gather a crowd to hear the gospel. Ask Holy Spirit for words of knowledge so you can identify the sick who do not have visible sign s (braces, limps, coughs, etc.) Once in the right place or even on the way there, the evangelist should then identify a person that needs healing. When Jesus went to the Pool of Bethesda, Jesus chose the paralyzed man out of the great number of sick people waiting by the pool, because he apparently had the greatest limitation on getting healed he could not move when the waters were troubled (John 5:3). The evangelist or revivalist should look for any and all opportunities. Holy Spi rit may point out a person to be healed, or sometimes the person will come to th e evangelist. The lame man at the gate of the temple was asking for money. The m an was obviously lame, and Peter and John knew it was the will of God to heal an y and all so they healed him (Acts 3:3). When Paul was at Lystra, he saw a lame man whom the Holy Spirit had given faith to be healed (Acts 14:8,9). The evangelist will look for any opportunity, large or small, knowing Holy Spirit always wants to heal. The evangelists will usually lay hands on the person and command them to be healed in the name of Jesus. If the evangelist has stirred himself up into God,

the authority and dominion of Jesus, and believes for an immediate healing, Holy Spirit will make the person whole right then. When a person is dramatically healed, a crowd will generally gather. Either the evangelist or one of the evangelistic team will take the opportunity to prea ch to the crowd. They will explain that the healing is a demonstration of the gr ace of God and the power of the gospel. The process will often involve drama and noise. In fact, more drama is bette r, because a bigger crowd will become dramatic and draw even more. When Peter an d John raised the lame man, a great tumult filled the temple area, the temple au thorities were stirred up, but thousands came to the Lord. The evangelist should be prepared to heal anyone who comes seeking healing o r deliverance. When they see what the Holy Spirit can do, many will come wanting a touch from God. They will be looking for Gods mercy, so He will not disappoint them. In the evening after Jesus had healed Peters mother-in-law, the whole town gathered at the door and Jesus healed many who had various diseases (Mark 1:3034). The same thing happened when Paul prayed for a sick man on the island of Ma lta. His father was sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and, after prayer, placed his hands on him and healed him. When this had happened, the rest of the sick on the island came and were cured (Acts 28:8-9). An evangelist should always follow the leading of the Scriptures (Acts 10:38 , Luke 6:19). Holy Spirit is the one who heals, so we must let Him operate how H e wants. The order that He works will often be different. For the man by the poo l of Bethesda healing came before repentance, whereas the paralytic lowered thro ugh the roof repented before he was healed. The order can be: belief/deliverance deliverance/belief healing/deliverance deliverance/healing. The Holy Spirit will know the order required. The message is that the sequence i s not as important as the evangelist ministering in fullness. We should be careful not to get locked in one way of operating. The human tenden cy is to find something that works and then flog it to death. Pray/touch and Slay is the current fashion. In contrast, the gospels record Jesus doing things in di fferent and unique ways so we can see the great variety of the ways we can relea se the love and power of God. Jesus healed blind people in five different ways. touching the eyes Matt 9:29 spitting on the eyes Mark 8:27 declaring they could see Mark 10:52 commanding the eyes to open Luke 18:42 rubbing clay and saliva on their eyes John 9:6,7 Jesus touched one leper, but told the ten to go and show themselves to the pries ts. If evangelists listen to the Spirit, a similar variety of methods will be pr esent in their ministry. Jesus sent his disciples out in pairs. When preaching the gospel and healing the sick, Christians should work in a group or two or three or more.

There is power in agreement. Jesus promised that when two or three people work t ogether, he would be with them (Matt 18:19-20, Acts 3:4-5). Working in a group s trengthens the body by releasing the gifts of the Spirit and faith. Failures Praying for the sick can be a risky business, due to the fear that nothing might happen. It is better to build your confidence in God so that you are healing th e sick and not just praying for them. We are not perfect like Jesus, so we will have some apparent failures. Some people that we pray for will not be healed rig ht then. Some will be healed minutes, days, weeks or months later, or not at all . The best ones for the evangelist are the rather instant healings. These excite t he immediate crowd. You do not change your message or give up on your faith just because the healing is not immediate. We must be prepared to be humble and acco untable. If the person is not healed immediately, we must deal with it. We should never blame the sick person. We must be really careful not to blame si ck people for lack of faith, because it does not make sense to expect unbeliever s to have faith. We must not blame God, as that would insult the gospel and deny his mercy. It is better to say that our faith is too small than to let the person blame God or themselves. We should use the experience of failure to learn and build our confidence in God . Our books OK, God, Now What? and Battle Prayer for Divine Healing Field Manual 2 are especially designed for this. It is okay to go to Jesus and ask (privatel y) why someone was not healed. Why couldnt we (Matt 17:19). Jesus will answer and teach us by the Scriptures how we can do better next time. Reasons why people are not healed immediately There are a number of reasons why unbelievers may not be healed in the context o f evangelism. (They are not explanations for Christians being sick). 1. Failure to Command Jesus always commanded in healing. He either commanded the sickness to leave or the person to do what they could not do before. He would address the person and command the sickness. Here are some examples of his words. Leper Be clean Little girl Get up Paralytic Take up your bed and walk Deaf Be opened He sometimes made a declaration: You are healed (Mark 5:34,39). He sometimes told the sick person to do something and they would be healed. He sometimes declared that the person already was healed. Jesus never asked God to heal a sick person, but always confronted the sickness Himself. Likewise, the apostles never prayed intercessory or supplication type p rayers for the sick, but always commanded in aiteo for sickness to leave. We mus t understand the authority we have in Christ. We do not ask Jesus to heal people , because he has given us authority to heal them (Matt 10:1). 2. Not Enough Faith

Lack of faith is probably the main reason for people not being healed. One way t o describe faith is the level of persuasion on a particular truth of God. Faith is essential for healing (Acts 3:16), but it can have different sources. The sick person may have faith to be healed. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed (Acts 14:8,9). This level of faith will be rare among those not focused on Jesus and His love f or them, as it is very hard for a person who is chronically ill to have faith. Friends of the sick person may have faith. This was the case with the paraly tic man lowered through the roof Jesus saw their faith (Luke 5:20). Usually the evangelists or disciples will be the ones with faith (Acts 3:1-7 ). They will have faith, because they understand their authority. Faith is inescapable. Nothing will happen without it. The more miracles they see , the more their faith will increase (John 2:23). 3. Persistence Needed Mark 8:22-26 records that Jesus had to touch the eyes of a blind man twice to ge t full healing. After the first touching, the man could see, but not properly. J esus had to act a second time to heal his mind so he could understand what he wa s seeing. If Jesus had to deal with the blind eyes twice to get victory, we shou ld not be ashamed to resist sickness more than once. Some serious sickness may n eed continuous confrontation over a period of time (2 Kings 4:32-35). The problem is not God. The resistance is from the devil. Your problem is to dem onstrate authority to the devil like you would to a mean dog. Go after the littl e devil for greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world, knowing tha t healing is easy for God. 4. Lack of Discernment Mark 7:33-35 and Matt 9:32,33 describe the healing of two different people who c ould not speak. They had the same symptoms, but the diagnosis and the solution w ere both different. The reason was that one had a physical impediment and could be healed by command, whereas the other had a demon that needed to be cast out. The symptoms were the same, so discernment was needed to know what to do. If a s ick person is not healed, a demon may need to be directly cast out. NOTE: if you do both at the same time, then most events are covered. Such as: In the name of Jesus, this spirit of infirmity/sickness causing _________, by the s tripes and the blood of Jesus, I break your power and all help, and I command yo u to hear and obey my voice and leave now in the name of Jesus. Body, be whole a nd work right now in the name of Jesus. Persons, be FREE in the name of JESUS! 5. Sin Unconfessed sin in the group may hinder thief faith in their prayer. Before pray ing, the group should make sure they are at peace with the Lord and with each ot her. The group must be in unity. Pride is particularly dangerous when praying fo r the sick. Once we have seen a couple of people healed we can start to think we are experts. That sort of pride usually comes before a fall. We can only heal t he sick by grace (Matt 10:8).

Sin itself does not stop God healing through you, but when you sin you are opera ting under law, and condemnation attacks your confidence in God. We heal by grac e, and are healed by grace. Usually the sinner knows they do not deserve healing , but a self righteous, legalistic or prideful attitude thinks God owes them, or they are unworthy, rather than healing as an act of grace and love by God. The sin of the sick person is not relevant. The purpose of healing is to dig the m out of sin. Jesus did not worry about the sin of the man by the pool, until af ter he was healed. He then told him to Go and sin no more (John 5:14). Once saved, sin does become an issue. Jesus never told anyone He would not heal them due to their sin, or lack of worship to God, or unforgiveness in their heart. Jesus he aled to show God does not use sickness to teach people lessons in some sort of s piritual education class. 6. Compassion Healing is a technique or demonstration to convince people Jesus is alive and lo ves them to help them. Holy Spirit will then use that to win people for Jesus. When Jesus saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick (Ma tt 14:14). While healing is very mechanical in the authority of the name of Jesus, it benef its the minister if the gift or authority of healing flows out of compassion. He aling without compassion does not reflect the love of Jesus. 7. Not Understanding Place We all want to see Holy Spirit healing the sick, but we forget place can make a difference. Here are two passages that provide a key to successful evangelism or revival. And wherever Jesus wentinto villages, towns or countrysidethey placed the sick in the marketplaces because they knew He was coming and were expecting miracles by Him. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who t ouched him were healed (Mark 6:56). As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peters shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by (A cts 5:15). Large numbers of people were healed in the streets and the market place because they knew Jesus was coming and He would heal them. They were in anticipation of good from God. This is where Holy Spirit loves to work. I suspect that Holy Spirit sometimes gets bored with our ritualistic meetings an d longs to get out into the public places and heal the sick so we do not see chu rch as a limitation in seeing God at work. If we want to see Holy Spirit doing t his, we should follow Him. Go where the people are. Local Localities The Holy Spirit works locally, and globally. He is not just interested in large audiences or getting onto television as the only way to work. Yes the results ar e in greater numbers in these large venues, but people are not numbers to Him. H e is interested in you and your faith level with Him, and how you love others fo r Him. Holy Spirit prefers to work in a particular locality with local people so you ca

n relate to them more intimately. The Kingdom is to be spread and maintained foo t by foot. When Peters mother-in-law was healed, the entire neighborhood came wit h their sick. They realized something special was going on, because they knew Pe ter and his mother-in-law. Some that had seen her with the fever saw her again h ealed. They did not need further proof. There are some greater challenges in larger venues. As soon as healing goes onto the public stage, questions get asked. Was the person really healed? Were they pretending to be sick to get close to the great preacher? Were they as sick as t hey claimed? Did the sickness come back next week? Has the healing been authenti cated by their doctor? Recognize these questions will be asked and be prepared t o handle them before and after the meeting/event. Whether in a large or small venue, the people living close will know the person that is healed. They can quickly work out for themselves if the healing is real. When Jesus healed the man who was blind from birth, his neighbours and those who had formerly seen him begging could see that he was healed (John 9:8). For public, non-church places, recognize the issues will be different depending on the number of people involved or the size of the venue. If you are in a churc h environment, you are typically looking at people who need revival and are ofte n very hardened to the gospel (else they would already be healed and/or alive in Jesus). They will almost never admit their unbelief or pride is keeping them si ck. So prepare yourself to have to deal with a great wall of resistance that is not usually seen in small groups of unbelievers. So gird you mind into the gospe l, blast through that wall and exercise that authority in the name of Jesus when you minister in church or to churchy people on the street. One reasons that we do not see as many healings as we would like is that we are not aware that our own attitude and the attitude of the people in different plac es require some adjustments in your approach. So whether we are in a church environment, on the street, gathering a small crow d or in a large venue, gird your mind in the moment and on the love of God, His Spirit within you, His great power and desire, the power in the name of Jesus, a nd you will see God heal. For your everyday life, Holy Spirit loves to work locally. As we go and minister life for our sick neighbours, we will see great healings also. Luke 10:8 And int o whatsoever city ye enter 9 and heal the sick that are therein, and say unto th em, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. Your neighbors are in your city. Key 2: The Gift of Healing is for the Lost Also Going to the lost (Gentiles) with the gift of healing is very important. Over th e last decades God has been restoring the gift and ministry of healing to the ch urch. This is great, but we have tended to keep it in the church and only prayed for Christians. This is a mistake. Praying for Christians is a good way to learn about healing, but we need to go o n to healing the lost in the city. The Holy Spirit loves the world and is always m oving out towards it to draw people to the Father (John 7:37-38). If we dont go w ith Him, He will go on to others without us. Jesus blessed us so we could bless others. If we are just seeking our own healin g, we are missing the point. We should be seeking healing for the lost who are a lso in pain. When sending out the disciples to heal the sick, Jesus said, Go the lost sheep (Matt 10:6).

We should do the same for revival, and to the world for evangelism. Obey Jesus Jesus instructed the church how to do evangelism in Mark 16:15-19. He said we sh ould go into the world (not stay in the church) and preach the gospel. We should expect God to confirm our gospel message, by healing the sick and other signs. Divine healing in the name of Jesus as a gift of Holy Spirit, or in authority in the name of Jesus, has always been successful. It worked for the twelve and the seventy-two when Jesus sent them out for revival. When the latter returned, Jes us saw Satan falling from heaven (Luke 10:18). Healing is a demonstration of the power of the Kingdom of God by using the name of the Great King, Jesus to destroy the works of that rebel king, Satan. With no healing, miracles, signs and wonders, Christianity is just another set of good ideas, or the wisdom of men. It is not an intellectual pursuit but a power battl e against the devil and his lies. 1 Cor 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of mans wisdo m, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5 that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Both for the dead, asleep and hardened Christian, and the most ardent sinner, th e gospel of Jesus Christ is one of power seen in miracles of healing and other w onders. Rom 15:18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Chris t hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, 19 th rough mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of C hrist. Healing en 5000 s 3 and he was worked for Peter and John for revival to the Lordship of Jesus Christ wh men came to the Lord, as a consequence of one lame man being healed (Act 4). The same method worked for Paul in Malta for evangelism, even though a prisoner (Acts 28:1-10).

Yet strangely, the church has ignored this method of evangelism through most of history. We dream up other methods of evangelism, like inviting an evangelist to the church and getting people to bring their friends (they rarely do) or puttin g on a concert or user friendly worship to bring people to the church. Yet we st ubbornly refuse to use the method of evangelism that Jesus specifically commande d, so we should not be surprised that we do not have revival or great evangelist ic success. The evangelists with the anointing to heal the sick must be shooed out of the ch urches and into the world to demonstrate the love of God to the world, by healin g the sick and preaching the gospel. This would bring revival for Christians and Jews, and conversions for the un-churched and lost. Eph 5:13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for wha tsoever doth make manifest is light. 14 Wherefore he (God) saith, Awake thou tha t sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 15 See th en that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding wha t the will of the Lord is. 18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be (continually being) filled with the Spirit; 19 speaking to yourselves in psa lms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to th e Lord; 20 giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the na me of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
