Airworthy: Safe for flight and conform to type design..

Airworthiness : the possession of the necessary requirement for flying in safe c ondition, within allowable limit. CASR: The regulations issued by DGAC to control all civil aviation activities in Indonesia. Reliability: Nilai kemungkinan suatu sistem atau komponen akan tetap berfungsi d engan baik untuk waktu tertentu dan kondisi operasi tertentu tanpa mengalami keg agalan. Service Bulletin (SB): A document issued by manufacturer to modify, repair, repl ace or inspect parts of the aircraft, to improve safety, operation or reliabilit y. Type of SB are ALERT which require urgent attention by operators because it a ffect safety, color is light blue, covered by AD; STANDARD SB does not require a lert. Classification of SB by Authority only, manufacturers recommend only 1. Mandatory ? must be done & covered by AD 2. Non mandatory ? optional, decision by operator because safety is not affected. Annexes: The International Standards and recommended practices are prepared by a ll authorities and covering all aspects of Civil Aviation. MSG (Maint Steering Group): A maintenance process is the procedure used to ensur e that the inherent design reliability of an aircraft is maintained. a. MSG-1 that produced substantial savings for the Boeing 747 (B747) over the DC -8. b. MSG-2: HT (Hard Time); OC (On-Condition); CM (Condition Monitoring). c. MSG-3 the commercial airline industry's "best practice" reliability program t o ensure maximum aircraft availability, reliability and inherent safety at a min imum total cost. MSI (Maint Significant Items): An item whose failure or malfunction could have o ne or more of the following effects or characteristics: Affect safety on the ground or in flight. Be undetectable during operations. Have significant operational economic impact. Have significant non-operational economic impact. AD (Airworthiness Directive): AD is a mandatory inspection, modification or repl acement, issued by the Authority to correct for unsafe condition found on aircra ft. The AD monitors all products approved by Authority & then found defective du e to design, manufacturing or maintenance. DMIR (Designated Manufacturing Inspection Representative): DMIR is an approved p erson working for the manufacturer and his suppliers who can certify the A/W of products on behalf of FAA. DAS (Designated Alteration Station): DAS is an organization with the authority, delegated by the FAA under part 21 to issue STCs (Supplemental Type Certificates ). This is and engineering approval issued by FAA to: 1. Domestic repair stations 2. Airlines 3. Manufacturer of products DAS can issue: 1. STC 2. Experimental C of A 3. Amend standard C of A

Safety is the state in which the risk of harm to person or property damage is re duced to, and maintained at or below, an acceptable level through a continuing p rocess of hazard identification and risk management. Annex 1 Personnel Licensing Licensing of flight crews, air traffic controllers and aircraft maintenance pers onnel. Annex 2 Rules of the Air Rules relating to the conduct of visual and instrument flight. Annex 3 Meteorological Service for International Air Navigation Provision of meteorological services for International air navigation and report ing of meteorological observations from aircraft. Annex 4 Aeronautical Charts Specifications for aeronautical charts for use in International aviation. Annex 5 Units of Measurement to be used in Air and Ground Operations Dimensional systems to be used in air and ground operations. Annex 6 Operation of Aircraft Specifications which will ensure in similar operations throughout the world a le vel of safety above a prescrived minimum.
