Year 1 Trip to Museum of Childhood

This term Year 1 are learning about how toys have changed through time. For that reason Year 1 visited the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green last Wednesday so that they could have first-hand experience playing with older toys. They had a look at moving toys, clockwork toys, puppets, teddy bears and dolls houses. They were amazed that some of the toys were over 200 years old and still in good condition! Both classes also had a lesson called Toys on a Timeline. They were allowed to play with toys that their grandparents and parents may have had when they were children! Thank you to Miss Westbrook and Miss Bartlett for organising this and all the parent helpers who came along to help on the trip.

Forthcoming Dates: Monday 23rd January History theme week Tuesday 31st January FOB Meeting Monday 13th February Half term week Tuesday 21st February Yr 3 Trip to Natural History Museum Tuesday 28th February Y5 Golden Hind trip Governors Meeting Wednesday 29th February Cross Country Thursday 8th March Y6 class to British Museum Friday 16th March Y6 class to British Museum Wednesday March 28th CRIBs Easter Play

Thank you School Pond As some parents might know as part of our school building works we have had a new pond and wildlife garden created. It is situated next to the Key Stage 1 playground and over the coming months I will be setting up a pond club to design and plant it up. However, I have a very limited knowledge of setting up a natural wildlife pond and garden and would really appreciate any advice or help from the parents. So if you have any expertise and would be happy to meet with me or would just like to offer your support, I would be very grateful. Miss Bates
