The Eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which range from halving extreme poverty to halting the spread

of HIV/AIDS and providing universal primary education, all by the target date of 2015 form a blueprint agreed to by all the worlds countries and all the Worlds leading development institutions. They have galvanized unprecedented efforts to meet the needs of the Worlds poorest. With this reason 2010 MDG Summit concluded with the adoption of a global action plan by keeping the promise particularly being united to achieve the Millennium Development Goals and also the announcement of a number of initiatives against poverty, hunger and disease. In a major push to accelerate progress on womens and childrens health, a number of Heads of State and Government from developed and developing countries, along with the private sector, foundations, international organizations, civil society and research organizations, pledged over $40 billion in resources over the next five years. Their First goal is to ERADICATE EXTREME POVERTY & HUNGER in here Halve, between 1990 and 2015, the proportion of people whose income is less than $1 a day. So then, the global economic crisis has slowed progress, but the world is still on track to meet the poverty reduction target and Prior to the crisis, the depth of poverty had diminished in almost every region. They are also achieving full and productive employment and decent work for all, including women and young people because of deterioration of the labour market, triggered by the economic crisis, has resulted in a decline in employment, jobs were lost, more workers have been forced into vulnerable employment and Since the economic crisis, more workers find themselves and their families living in extreme poverty. And the last of their target is Halve, between 1990 and 2015, the proportion of people who suffer from hunger and despite some progress, one in four children in the developing world are still underweight. Next goal is to ACHIEVE UNIVERSAL PRIMARY EDUCATION under here is to Ensure that, by 2015, children everywhere, boys and girls alike, will be able to complete a full course of primary schooling which results hope dims for universal education by 2015, even as many poor countries make tremendous strides, Sub-Saharan Africa and Southern Asia are home to the vast majority of children out of school and inequality thwarts progress towards universal education. 3rd goal is to PROMOTE GENDER EQUALITY AND EMPOWER WOMEN in Eliminating gender disparity in primary and secondary education, preferably by 2005, and in all levels of education no later than 2015 because Women are over-represented in informal employment, with its lack of benefits and security and Women are slowly rising to political power, but mainly when boosted by quotas and other special measures. 4th goal is to REDUCE CHILD MORTALITY. For the purpose of to reduce by two thirds, between 1990 and 2015, the under-five mortality rate although Child deaths are falling, but not quickly enough to reach the target but if revitalizing efforts against pneumonia and diarrhoea, while bolstering nutrition, could save millions of children. In success in controlling measles may be short-lived if funding gaps are not bridged.

5th goal is to IMPROVE MATERNAL HEALTH. In Reducing by three quarters the maternal mortality ratio so that maternal deaths could be avoided. In addition with this they are also achieving universal access to reproductive health especially for those inadequate funding for family planning, use of contraception and inequalities in care during pregnancy are striking are the major failure in fulfilling commitments to improving womens reproductive health. In the 6th goal is to COMBAT HIV/AIDS, MALARIA AND OTHER DISEASES Here they have halted by 2015 and begun to reverse the spread of HIV/AIDS. The spread of HIV appears to have stabilized in most regions, and more people are surviving longer. Many young people still lack the knowledge to protect themselves against HIV. And also Disparities are found in condom use by women and men and among those from the richest and poorest households. In additional they also have halted by 2015 and begun to reverse the incidence of malaria and other major diseases by production of insecticide-treated mosquito nets soars. And across Africa, expanded use of insecticide-treated bed nets is protecting communities from malaria. The bad thing is Children from the poorest households are least likely to receive treatment for malaria. Although external funding is helping to reduce malaria incidence and deaths, but additional support is needed. And for the other diseases like tuberculosis remains the second leading killer after HIV but tuberculosis prevalence is falling in most regions. 7th goal is to ENSURE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY. The first target is to Integrate the principles of sustainable development into country policies and programmes and reverse the loss of environmental resources, the second one is to Reduce biodiversity loss, achieving, by 2010, a significant reduction in the rate of loss, the third one is to Halve, by 2015, the proportion of the population without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation in which to meet the drinking water target, though much remains to be done in some regions and Safe water supply remains a challenge in many parts of the world, and in the last By 2020, to have achieved a significant improvement in the lives of at least 100 million slum dwellers. The last goal (8th) is to DEVELOP A GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP FOR DEVELOPMENT. In here their target are the following develop further an open, rulebased, predictable, non-discriminatory trading and financial system by Developing countries gain greater access to the markets of developed countries, Address the special needs of least developed countries, Address the special needs of landlocked developing countries and small island developing States, Deal comprehensively with the debt problems of developing countries, In cooperation with pharmaceutical companies, provide access to affordable essential drugs in developing countries, and In cooperation with the private sector, make available benefits of new technologies, especially information and communications.
